Movie Recommendation: Tangled

Art and I borrowed Tangled from Netflix and really loved it.

I got this review from Amazon:

"Walt Disney Pictures presents TANGLED, one of the most hilarious, hair-raising tales ever told. When the Kingdom's most wanted - and most charming - bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) hides out in a mysterious tower, he's taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair.
TANGLED is a store of adventure, heart, humor and hair - lots of hair. The soundtrack matches the humor and adventure of the movie with original songs and score from legendary and 8 time Academy Award® winning composer Alan Menken and Tony® and Grammy® nominee Glenn Slater. The quality abounds in the music with Mandy Moore singing on several of the new songs and the release of Grace Potter's new song 'Something That I Want'."

Now that I've looked it up on the web, I see another reason why I liked it so much.  The part of Flynn Rider is played by Zachary Levi.  I forgot who Zachary Levi was until I looked it up.  It's Chuck!  That's the television series that Art and I like so much!

Our favorite character in the movie was a horse named Maximus.  The expressions are hilarious.

You all know how much I love happy endings. I'm still so amazed at how far animated movies have come.

If you'd like to watch a movie that will make you laugh and smile long afterwards, rent Tangled.

  2. I think I will have to rent this one, it does look like fun. And you're right: animation has come so far, in some ways I enjoy them more than regular movies. But then again, I'm not hard to please...

  7. I'm going to have to get this movie. Sounds just like something I would really enjoy. Thanks Kay. I thought of you today when I opened my door to see a strange man standing there after reading yours a few days ago, me thinking it was the repairman I was expecting. Wrote a relatively whimsical piece at the end of my post today. It made me stop and think. Thanks for visiting and asking about the speech bubbles I sometimes put on my photos. I have a Paint Shop Pro program and it makes it all very easy. I'm sure Photoshop has the same thing. The only reason I bought Paint Shop Pro was that in the beginning when I first got on the Internet, I joined a couple of graphic tutorial groups that used Paint Shop Pro.

  8. I actually wanted to see this one in the theaters but Dennis said "uh, no, wait for Netflix". I did, put it on and it somehow keeps moving down the list. I'm putting it back on top! Another one you might want to see is Rango. Dennis rented this one in Vegas while I was busy winning money.*smirk* I caught the tail end of it and thought it was what Dennis calls "a heartwarming story" with a morale at the end.

  9. Nancy: Thanks! I'll put Rango on. I did see the previews, but it didn't appeal to us. However, I'll give it a try.

  14. I'll keep this in mind. I don't usually go for annimated movies, but that's probably because I haven't seen any new ones.

  15. Looks like a good movie and the reason these movies can be as good as it gets is thanks to computers.

  16. Nancy: Tell Dennis we have different tastes in movies. Neither Art nor I cared for Rango after watching it tonight.

  17. Wait a minute. No blood, guts, nothing?? uh uh.

Wouldn't you rather rent something that leaves you scared, shaking, and generally really ticked off?

    Then go rent "Blind Spot"
    It's actually quite good.
