Ikea has always been one of our favorite stores. They have wonderfully fun, affordable and creative things that look beautiful in your home. However, I have to laugh when I see things posted on Craigslist in Hawaii asking for more than what the item cost new at the store. I have a feeling some people in Hawaii think Ikea is a high end store.
Tiffany loves their very "affordable" lunches so, of course that's where we ate.
And here are the treasures we are bringing home to Hawaii: a duvet cover for my mom's futon, ceramic knives (which I hope will be as good as Tif's which she bought at a high end store), 2 bath rugs, 3 night lights, a wall socket unit and some colorful plastic bowls that were dishwasher safe. I hope everything works out well when we use them in Hawaii. Whatever the case, we had a lot of fun. I wish we had an Ikea in Hawaii.

We have an Ikea about 30 minutes drive away, though I haven't been for a year or so. I tend to go at this time of year as they have lots of cheap and cheerful Christmas decorations.
ReplyDeleteAs we say, "Use it in good health."
ReplyDeleteI love IKEA too. I went there with my sister when I visited her in Florida and she bought a futon and cover that is just perfect, and sensibly priced, too.
ReplyDeleteI've never been in an IKEA but the photo of the food makes me think I should try it. Dianne
ReplyDeleteBlessings....
ReplyDeleteThere will always be those trying to make a quick buck. Do you know i have never been to Ikea? Well truth be told I haven't bought any major or minor for that matter furniture in a while. hmmmm i must get my sister to take me there some day.
Have a blessed day

I love Ikea too, especially the meatballs. Wonder why Hawaii doesn't have an Ikea, it would do so well.
ReplyDeleteIkea is a great place to wander even if you don't buy anything.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to an IKEA store. Would like too though!
ReplyDeleteI need a new duvet cover, and I was wishing the other day there was an IKEA closer to me--I have to go to Chicago!
ReplyDeleteSame here...never been to an IKEA store. I read the largest IKEA store is located in China, as large as a football field. Why is Hawaii the last place on earth to have some of the best stores...
ReplyDeleteL.
You have so much fun in your world!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for cheering me up! We have an Ikea being renovated in Ottawa. It'll be ginormous!!!!
I like IKEA, but it is just to overwhelming for me. I can't think when I am in there. I love what you bought. Let us know how the knives work out.
ReplyDeletecouldn't get into your blog by clicking on the post punch list but when I clicked your your blog title, I got in. I like IKEA and especially their swedish meatballs. Looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteOur condo in Seattle is 100% furnished with IKEA things. It looks very nice and it did not cost us a fortune to make it look comfortable and stylish.
ReplyDeleteWe started shopping at IKEA in the 70's in Switzerland, and we still have bookcases, end tables, and a bed we bought then. The Swiss store was the first one opened outside of Sweden. It's funny that the store in Seattle seems the same as the one we went to so long ago. But of course all the stuff's made in China now!
yes, ikea would be nice.
ReplyDeletesafe trip home!

With Target and Kmart near our house, Ikea would be superfluous.
ReplyDeleteI love Ikea, too!
ReplyDeleteby the way we call it " I-ke-a "
but I heard you call it " Ai-Ke-a "
from my english conversation's teacher!
We took the kids to Ikea this summer. Isaac decide he wants to work there. He loved the maze-like arrangement of the huge store.
ReplyDeleteAya: It's true we pronounce it Ai-kee-a.
ReplyDeleteLinda: I just love their affordable prices and kitchenware.
