I just wanted to share some memories of fall colors that we brought home from Illinois last week.
We loved seeing all the colors every time we passed by this forest preserve.
The maples were ablaze with fiery color.
Trees were also generous with their golden hues.
These wild grape vines were tenacious and strangling in our back yard. Here in the forest, it seemed more modest and controlled.
I always loved the changing seasons of Illinois. Spring and fall were my favorites. The big joke was that spring and fall in our area lasted only 2 weeks. It sure felt like it. However, by its very briefness, it was more appreciated and valued.
Perhaps it's a reminder that we should treasure and celebrate all those glorious days of our lives.

Well said, Kay. I think we should indeed take note of the treasures and pleasures in our lives, every day. Blogging helps with that, I'm finding. Beautiful pictures, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteyes spring and fall are too brief. my favorites too...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your last photo is my favourite - very serene.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Kay!!
ReplyDeleteYou have good memory. Illinois is still like that at the moment and so is Ohio. We also have frost.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Los Angeles for 3 months (summer), San Francisco for 4 months (fall, winter) and New York City (5-1/2 yrs) and never saw such gorgeous colors! Wow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Kay, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful colors you enjoyed. We too have colors but they are mostly on the brown side. Guess brown is a color. Love that last picture, so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in Madison, Wisconsin, and one never forgets the brief but spectacular fall season, like what you show in your photos. In Madison it lasted one week, followed by a week when the trees were are dark red, bronze, and brown. The next week the leaves would all fall off, and spring did not really get under way until May.
ReplyDeleteBut what wonderful pix you got. Very talented photographer, whoever did them.
We are fortunate that spring and fall linger here on the western side of the Cascade Mountains. Our full autumn show is just coming on now this year. And our spring crowds into summer. But you are right about both being glorious!
ReplyDeleteimages of natures beauty and bounty - even grape vines!
ReplyDeletehow lovely.
