I love organizing things. Therefore, I love containers. A few years ago I fell in love with these
Really Useful Boxes. They're made in England.
I found them on sale at Office Depot and went a little crazy. I think the prices have gone up since I bought them a few years ago.

I use them to store all sorts of things from paints to CDs to wires. I have all our trip DVDs backed up and organized in the larger size containers. They're supposed to be really strong. I really like the colors. The only thing that worries me is that in Hawaii, the salt air tends to break down a lot of plastic. So far, these have held up nicely. It remains to be seen if it will stay wonderful 10 years from now, but I'll let you know.
I love containers too, problem is I never get around to putting much into them or labelling for that matter!

ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT to read your review 10 years from now!
ReplyDeleteI would love so many containers. It all looks so organized. My dream...
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you'll be blogging in ten years. :>)
I like to store things in baskets but alas few lids...lol!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can show us how to file our travel photos in separate CDs. I don't know how and David doesn't, either.
ReplyDeleteI bought the larger storage containers at Office Depot at $24 each. Fortunately the entire stock was on sale for 2-for-1 earlier this year. Perhaps, I should have mentioned it. I've owned possibly every brand of storage containers and these are the sturdiest becuz they way they stack up with the perimeter supporting the weight of the container above vertically. If you remove the covers, you can't nest them like paper cups, and that design probably accounts for the high price for warehouse storage and shipping bulk.
ReplyDeleteI too loooove to organize and I have a half a basement left to clean..
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot about the salt air. I have some of those boxes too. I am so far from the Ocean that salt air is not an issue, but dust is.
ReplyDeleteI still have material from the job I left before I got the job I retired from a few years back.. You never know, I might need that stuff some day.
LOve the boxes.

Gigi: All you have to do is to save the photo file onto a CD or DVD and that's it!
ReplyDeleteRon: I love those 2 for 1 sales. I don't need another box, but if it goes on sale again, I'd be tempted to buy another of the bigger ones.
Gosh I need some of those to help tidy up my storage shed. It would keep the spiders out.
ReplyDeleteKay, saving each photo file to a CD would be so time consuming, as there are so many photos. Is there some way to highlight a bunch of photos and drag it to the CD? Or would that corrupt the files?
ReplyDeleteNow we know how to solve the problem of plastics sitting forever in land dumps! Who would have thought your climate could break down plastic. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big container fan too. Do you have The Container Store in Hawaii? I could live in that place :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers, jj
LOL me too

Joanna: I don't think we have it here in Hawaii, but we do in Illinois. It's such a fun place!
ReplyDeleteGigi: Just save the file itself on disks. It really is pretty easy to do. I don't think it corrupts the photos much. It's just one more way to save your favorite photos.
Those are my favorite containers, too. Love them in all sizes!
