Was it the rains when we were gone to Illinois? Whatever it was, there were some humungous Meyer lemons on the tree when we returned. They were the size of large navel oranges.
My brother, Dennis even brought some to work where his friend, Grant made us some lemon popsicles. They were wonderfully refreshing. Dennis said Grant added some mint to the popsicles.
I love how he reused wooden chopsticks for the sticks.
I also froze lemon juice in an ice tray so we'd have it available for water or tea.
I'm so glad we're able to make use of the lemons.

From comments I just read, I see that people are confused by the Costco card.
What happened is that we gave my brother all the lemons before I took photos of them. Therefore, I asked him to take photos using something to show a size reference and send them to me. He must have had the Costco card handy so he used it to show you just how big the fruit were.

I am confused. Did your grow these lemons or buy them at Costco? Regardless those are some BIG lemons! I am guessing that lemon popsicles would be a wonderful treat.
ReplyDeleteOops! I'd better add a postscript to this post. Yes, you're absolutely right. The Costco card is only to show a size reference.
DeleteMy guess is that the Costco badge is there for size reference. But yeah, those homemade popsicles would be great! :-)
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine what its like to grow your own lemons, wow! Big ones ,
ReplyDeleteIt's great that the lemons were still flavorful. Often when produce is that big it isn't.
ReplyDeletegreat idea...when it's hot again...lol~
ReplyDeleteAre they super tart, or was some sweetner added? Let me know when the papaya pops are ready! DrumMajor
ReplyDeleteI believe there was a lot of sugar that was added. It was quite sweet...and very delicious.
DeleteWhat a great idea...to make lemon aid popsicles. I bet they are refreshing. Are the different color popsicles different flavors?

no, it couldn't have been the rain. There was still a drought statewide while you folks were in Obama land.
ReplyDeleteOh that looks so good!
ReplyDeleteBig, yes! As they say, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
