Feng Shui Calendar

My cousin just forwarded this e-mail to me and I thought it might be fun to pass along. However I decided to check on its validity first. I found this on Snopes. Apparently it's not true that it happens only once every 823 years and there's nothing Feng Shui about it.

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags.

So, forward this to your friends and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not forward.....will be without money.

This year we're going to experience four unusual dates.

1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 and that's not all...

Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born - now add
the age you will be this year,

The results will be 111 for everyone in whole world. This is the year of
the Money!!!

The proverb goes that if you send this to eight good friends money will
appear in next four days as it is explained in Chinese FENGSHUI.

Never mind the sending this e-mail on part according to the Chinese Feng Shui thought. Do you seriously think the Chinese of old thought of forwarding things on to get good luck? I imagine they had far more important things to worry about... not to mention not having the luxury of e-mail.

There's way too much stuff on the Internet zooming around as Forwarded Mail that is just bogus and I'm sure a lot of people get taken in by it.

  2. Hmmm. I wonder how that age thing works? I did add how old I will be to the last two digits of the year I was born and found it to be true. I could use some money but never forward anything to anyone...

  3. Always wise to take these things with a pinch of salt. Thanks for stopping by Kay, have a great weekend.

  4. p.s. just thought of something else. I heard that one of the reasons 'people' like these forwards sent around is that it is a good way for the spammers to get loads of e-mail addresses.

  5. I got that e-mail and didn't forward it. It looks like going to work today is going to be the only way any money will come my way.

  7. I never forward anything if I can avoid it. Things like that are virus magnets. Me? Millionaire?
    Not bloody likely!!!!

  8. I don't forward things usually - they're just there to fill up the mailbox. If I do think something should be posted on I take out all the header addresses. Mostly these things are rubbish.

  9. Every year has months like that. Last month had three Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. This month, will only 30 days, has three Wednesdays and Tuesdays. Last year we had "interesting dates" like 10/10/10 and the year before 09/09/09.
I always check things out on snopes.com, and I always reply to people who send me these things by suggesting they check snopes before forwarding. Some have actually told me it's "easier" for them to let me look it up!

  10. Per the ancient Mayans, the world is supposed to end on 12-21-12 because of the alignment of the planets and stars...

    Oh, well.

How do you like the thunder we are having right now at 5:50 am in Hawaii?

  12. Yes, I agree. I don't forward things. Sometimes I am charmed by dates like 1-11-11, but on the whole I delete these things.

You two have a great day.

  13. I've seen this lately also. Well, maybe unknown people would just like to send us unlimited quantities of money. If they really need to get it off their hands, I suppose I could help them out by accepting it!

  14. As soon as they ask me to send it to 8 of my friends, they lose me.

I really LOVE hearing from you! However, if you sign in as ANONYMOUS, please don't forget to tell me who you are in the comment box by just writing your first name. We would all appreciate it if you kept your comment respectful and kind.

I’m using Comment Moderation for any post that is more than a day old because of aggravating SPAM. Therefore, if your comment does not go up on an older (more than a day old) post, it's because I need to OK it first. I'm sorry to have to do this, but again... sigh... it's the spam that's driving me crazy.
