I went to see my orthopedic doctor, Dr. G at the end of June and more X-rays were taken on my broken humerus. He told me that it was still healing after my accident in mid-May and would take several more weeks for complete healing.
He was actually surprised that I had as much mobility as I did due to my wonderful physical therapist, Stephanie at Aiea Rehabilitation Center. He warned me though that the shoulder would never be the same again and that I shouldn't press down with the arm.
For our family trip to Japan a week later I did wear the sling (most of the time), especially on trains hoping people wouldn't bump into me.
I have to make a follow-up visit to the orthopedic doctor, but now he's on vacation.
He said in June that I'd need more physical therapy but that the referral could only be made after the next follow-up visit.
Trouble is... ummmm... we have a couple more trips before the end of the year.
Sigh...
I am back at Zumba and dancing with my right arm and sometimes with my left. I think I might be able to manage tai chi, sort of.
Slowly but surely.
