I nearly forgot it was our anniversary again. Art tends to forget too. We don't usually do anything much.

When we were first married, I used to marvel at people who were married for ten years and wondered what their secret was.

I can hardly believe that we've been together for nearly four decades. We've certainly faced challenges and managed to deal with them.
It's been 39 years of adventure, laughter, encouragement, laughter, companionship, laughter and always love even though we almost never say the words.
We know.

Actions speak so much louder than words. Lucky you, lucky Art, having each other for 39 years. A perfect match made in heaven.
ReplyDeleteYou are the best couple I have ever known, and it is inspiring to have you in my life.
Congratulations. You are a loving couple with the right to brag about the success of your lives together. My spouse and I met 13 years ago and as a late-in-life couple, we will not see a 50th anniversary together so we celebrate weekly anniversaries. Next Tuesday will be our 676th.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYpu are soooo very, very blessed!!!!
ReplyDeleteCelebrate well!!!!!!!!!
I also married my guy when we were both 50, so we won't see four decades together, but we are approaching 20! Congratulations on almost 40 years together, Kay. You are so lucky to have found each other! :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the wedding picture. You both still look the same, just a bit more mature.
Happy Happy Anniversary to you and Art, what a lovely couple, such a beautiful post, your words are beautiful and so sincere, best wishes lovely lady, to you and your man.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet!! Shane and I will celebrate our 10 year anniversary this year:) It doesn't seem that long!Happy Anniversary:)
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful example you both are to family and friends. So needed in this world...congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, and many more happy years to both of you.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for both of you, Kay. You have 11 more years to prepare for your Golden Anniversary. KC will be a teenager by then. That doesn't seem so far away. Will blogging exist at that time, or will something better take its place??? LOL.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary ! Loved your all the pictures ,second one is my fav.
ReplyDeleteYou obviously have a wonderful marriage, and you don't take each other for granted. Congratulations on Your 38 years together!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congrats. You barely looked old enough in your wedding photo (was that in Hawaii or Chicago?) and you certainly don't look old enough now for that length of marriage. See, that 3-hour nap helped you remember! You'll do grand for a jillion more years! DrumMajor
ReplyDeletePaljon Onnea hääpäivänä. Minulla ja miehelläni jo 40 vuotta:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to what you and Art have built together.

You two have held up really well. I would know you anywhere today. I love the little Brownie uniform on your daughter. Connie had one too. Dianne
ReplyDeleteI love how you describe your relationship! Friendship in marriage is just the most wonderful thing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary. You sound like the perfect pair. Wishing you many more wonderful years together.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 39 years. That is momentous in this day and age, isn't it. Wishing you another 39.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Our 50th was this year. Looks like you will easily make that, and have lots of good laughter along the way.
ReplyDeleteYou are the second couple I have visited today that is celebrating 39 years. It must have been a wonderful day and year to tie the knot.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to a wonderful couple.
Congratulations and best wishes. Here's to many more.
ReplyDeleteThank you, everybody! When Art saw that I'd written how we don't do much on our anniversary, he said we should celebrate. We ended up taking mom to lunch and then the theater to see Mission Impossible. She and Art loved it! I was pretty tense throughout. I can see why the movie has such high ratings. It's pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteDrum Major: I have added captions to the photos to make it clearer. We were married in Honolulu and left for Chicago a year later.
I'm one of the many who wish you a very Happy Anniversary Kay and Art! You both are amazing...individually and as a couple! I love to watch the two of you together when we come over; you both look at each other with so much love, understanding and compassion. You're my idols!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kay and Art! 39 years is something to be proud of. It's so obvious from your posts that there is a deep love and tight bond between the two of you. How blessed you both are!
ReplyDeleteSome couples are just made in Heaven.
ReplyDeleteMay you continue to be blessed together for many, many years to come my friend-

Congratulations Kay and Art, before you know it you'll be celebrating forty years together, and surely you'll celebrate that? Here that's a Ruby Anniversary - do you name the special anniversaries too? We've got another seven years to go before we reach that one.
ReplyDeleteAmanda: I believe the 40th is also a ruby in the U.S. Somewhere in my jewelry box are earrings with teeny tiny rubies that Art bought me some 30 years ago. I think. Hmmm... maybe I should go look for it.
ReplyDeleteJust look at these loving comments. You and your marriage are an inspiration for so many new friends. Your blogging brings good to the world, Kay.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Kay and Art! Hey ours is this month too (36 years). It really is amazing how time flies. Hard to believe isn't it.
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWishing you many more anniversaries =)
Happy Anniversary a little late. You are so fortunate to have each other and such a special relationship.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Kay and Art...hugs...
