Shedrain Umbrella Lifetime Warranty

Several years ago, our cousin, Renee gave me a Shedrain solar umbrella which I've taken everywhere.

Last year I took it with me to the Big Island and used it quite a bit to protect us from the hot Hawaiian sun.

It's a great umbrella because it is UPF 50+ which I especially need in Hawaii.

Unfortunately, eventually one of the umbrella ribs snapped off. I was really disappointed. I looked up the cost of replacement and saw that they were very pricey.

That's when I noticed that wrapped tightly around one of the ribs was a tiny slip of paper that said Lifetime Warranty. It gave an email address so I wrote to them to ask if I needed a receipt because it had been a gift. I also sent them this photo.

Brandy wrote right back saying I should send the umbrella to them. They would check it out and fix or replace it.

I sent it to them immediately and she wrote back several days later along with this photo saying that they don't have the same manual model, but could send me this auto open/close model.

I was thrilled! I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm just amazed they stand by their product completely.

I love it!

POSTSCRIPT:  I just got it and it's great!!!  Just in time for the hot Hawaiian summer sun.

  1. My brother in law has worked for Shed-Rain since 1983, he has supplied me & my family with many umbrellas that have stood the tests of Washington raining winters and springs forever or so it seems, he is 65 years young as of this past 16th of May, he works still..It is a great company that stands by it's products, unfortunately Wal-Mart sells cheap knock offs thus affecting their bottom line at Shed-Rain, but really we always go with companies in the USA that provide Veterans and many people with jobs who would not be employed because of a physical or mental situation, it is not a big company but in our eyes a truly good company..Glad they stood by their product..Lots of rain for nearly 37 years biggest drought in recorded weather history. their is now a Iris festival it was a big casualty of the drought and we fear the farmers and vintners will be jammed up with this drought no water in Washington state, no ski season, no snow pack and it affects lots of people, yes the umbrella industry..ciao!

  2. I meant to say raining season here not raining, I am mary from Vancouver Washington...we love it here but the heat and humidity is going to be horrible no water, not like California but still no water, Oregon is in a big drought too, they have a big Iris festival and a tulip festival but they bloomed so early it cost the company a lot of money lost as people booked the tours tooo late to see the beautiful flowers due to the heat that is here, we had the hottest Memorial Day weekend ever, we are getting new windows, door, patio door and insulation and considering a new heating system, we don't want to melt all the rest of the year as it is predicted to be so hot and humid living in our tiny home will make us ill..don't want that at all, if we could find a way to travel to Hawaii we would, but we go to the Washington shore all the time and keep cooler, our kitteh cats travel with us also..we like to get up and go to places as we are semi-retired I still work, my hubs is retired, we are seeing a lot of the USA and it is dry as could be..a big drought for sure, aloha!

  12. It's great when you find a company like that, a pleasant surprise. There is so much cheap stuff out there and it's often hard to find an item that instead of being cheap in price will actually be useful for many years.

  13. Fantastic! I had a vacuum cleaner that had a lifetime warranty - used to be called Interstate Compact. The company was great but sometime later, the Hawaii rep changed to a rotten mean man. He told me that I shouldn't expect it to last a lifetime and had the nerve to use an analogy of HIS Mercedes Benz being very expensive but he doesn't expect it to last a lifetime. Pfssssh! At least Mercedes doesn't sell it as having a warranty for a lifetime and this jerk ticked me off. I went directly to the company and they honored the warranty and fixed my machine for free. My machine finally fell apart and I got the next generation of it, Tri-Star, from The Vacuum Cleaner Center on King Street, no lifetime warranty anymore.

    1. Jalna, I feel honored.

Oh! and I almost forgot - I just learned that those Vornado fans (the kinda ugly ones that look like plastic helmets) also have a lifetime warranty. That's pretty cool, dontcha think? Get it? cool..... fans....... Okay, sorry.

    1. Yae! It did work! I don't understand why it wouldn't since you're with Blogspot too. I wonder why so many people are having problems now. Darn!

  15. I can leave messages on most blogs, even the WordPress ones. I wonder what the problem is for some people. Anyway, I think that company deserves all the accolades in the world, and what a great thing to stand by your product like that. :-)

    1. I think the problem is more for Wordpress bloggers. Blogspot bloggers can comment on anyone's blog I believe. The Wordpress bloggers have difficulty leaving comments on Blogspot blogs.

  22. Shed-Rain gave a ton of money to the Race for the Cure and even let their employees off to run in it on a weekday, wonderful company. I don't get companies saying a lifetime warranty what their lifetime, a health place closed up took all the people's money their lifetime was last week but in Washington state conusmers are protected better than most places.ciao!!!!!!!!!!!!!
