I consider myself organized, but I was surprised during our stay in Illinois to find that my daughter had labeled all the shelves in the kitchen. This was to insure that people would not misplace things in her small storage area.
I laughed when I saw what she had done but in the days ahead, I would be really grateful for those labels so I could find things easily and put things back where they belong.
Hmmm... maybe I'll have her do it for my kitchen when they come to visit.

ReplyDeleteI have glass doors on my kitchen cupboards. That helps. On the one big cupboard with pantry items and appliances, G installed pull out shelves. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm not a person who enjoys organizing things,but I certainly appreciated it when one of our houseguests took it upon herself to organize my kitchen! I've managed to stay reasonably well organized there since then.

ReplyDeleteInteresting. The only other place I've seen that sort of labeling is at my church. There, multiple people use the kitchen at various time. The shelf labels seem to do a pretty good job of keeping things in order.

ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! My daughter and hubby are the neatnicks. Although, my daughter works 4 days/week and she's slackened with 2 kids. They have a cleaning service every two weeks, which I think wise if you can afford it!

ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in a volunteer house at Heifer Ranch, we had no doors on the kitchen cabinets. With 5 to 8 young people living together, the kitchen could get chaotic. Once for fun I labeled my shelf "tectonic plates" and "continental shelf." :)
Perhaps she did it only for your convenience!
