I know quite a few of you figured out that my posts had been scheduled ahead of time this summer. It has been undoubtedly one of the busiest, hottest, most exhausting, most memorable, happiest, craziest summer we've experienced in a long time. And gracious! It's not over yet!
I've not been able to spend time on my blog since early June when my daughter and family arrived soon after school ended for KC.
Aside from all our Oahu activities, we were able to visit Kauai at long last and spend time with my wonderful cousins, Lorna and Holly!
After five weeks in Hawaii, Tiffany and family returned to Chicago and four days later, we followed. The day after we landed, we rented a van and drove to Maryland to spend time with our son and his family.
We spent two days in Washington, D.C. in the hottest weather we've ever experienced there. Yikes! We then returned to Chicago to visit with friends we've been missing and returned to Hawaii after a couple more weeks.
Now we're home and trying to get caught up with everything, i.e. doctor's visits, shopping, etc. I have 4,000 photos from 3 cellphones and 2 cameras to go through, a trip photobook to create and two other photobooks for my two grandchildren.
Sigh...
I will be back... as soon as my head stops spinning.
What has your summer been like?

I'm so glad you are home safe and sound. And that you had a chance to visit everybody, even if it was so terribly HOT. We have been blessed with a coo:-)l summer, until now. At least it won't last too long.
ReplyDeleteWow---you have had a very busy but hopefully wonderful summer. Nice to have family visiting you and also nice to visit family and friends here on the mainland. YES--we have had a very very hot summer --so I know about the weather in D.C. We are also VERY dry --and need rain desperately... Not fun when one is trying to raise beautiful flowers... We are watering the yard like crazy these days just trying to keep things alive.

Yes, Maryland has had record heat and it's not going away anytime soon that I've heard. What a whirlwind of a summer you have had. How nice that your daughter and son in law could take that time off or are they teachers like you were?

ReplyDeleteMine has been very tame...compared to yours. I am leaving in September to go to Florida for a week to visit my son and new daughter-in-law and see their new home.
