I was looking through my photo files just now and came across this memory from 1980. It was taken in California after a joyful, probably exhausting day at Disneyland. I'm sure I've posted this before, but I like looking at it.
Keola was about two years old. Tiffany was almost five.
My younger brother, Dennis and I have always been close. Art and his older sister have also been very close. We hoped for the same for our children and that wish came true.
Keola and Tiffany are opposites in personality and in so many other ways. However, they share a sibling bond that never diminished from the time Keola was born.
Every time I see this photo, it makes me tear a little. They were so beautiful. Well... they still are.

ReplyDeleteKay, that IS a very special photo. You should enlarge and frame it, at least an 8x10. The gentle light shining down onto their little sleepy heads really makes it a standout photo. Enter it in a contest. Yes, our kids will always be little kids to us, no matter how grown they get.

ReplyDeleteSo precious. You are lucky your children are so close. I am lucky that way, too, and we all live in the same area and get to be together often.
ReplyDeleteActually, we live very far apart. We're in Hawaii and they are in Illinois and Maryland. It calls for long, long plane rides.

ReplyDeleteMy son and daughter have always been very close too, and now my grandson and granddaughter are. It is a very precious bond.
I never had a strong sibling bond. Oldest was too much older to bond with, more like a parent/babysitter and then he was gone to college and growing up. The 2nd oldest was far too cold in personality, and a lot of anger built in. The one closest to my age, hated me from the day I was born until the day he kind of grew up.
