Summer on the Mainland

We spent a big chunk of our summer on the mainland. We first landed in Chicago, repacked our things at our daughter's house and then flew to Maryland with Tiffany and KC to visit our son, Keola and his family.

When we landed at O'Hare at 5:00 AM we were surprised to see a long, long line stretching across the United corridor. Flyers were all grabbing a quick McDonalds breakfast.

A gorgeous morning sunrise greeted us as we stepped outside with our luggage where our daughter met us a few minutes later.

When we arrived at their home, our granddaughter, KC had hung a sign on their doorway to greet us.

It was good to be back again.

  3. Speaking of quick McDonalds, you must see THE FOUNDER with Michael Keaton. So much truth to learn but also you go away drooling for a Big Mac. LOL Love KC's sign for you guys:-)

  4. Simply wonderful to see them all again. We are taking a week off for a train ride to see the youngest daughter. I hope our visit will be as delightful as yours was.

  8. I would have been lost in O'hare if my daughter hadn't helped. I did manage to get out of it.

  9. Nice to see you back on blogland Kay I realise you've been home for a little while now but I'm sure you are still coming to grips with 'life at home' and all it entails I bet your Mum enjoyed seeing the rest of the family.

Your airport photo reminded me of the time we had time to waste in LA airport one year - the World Series was in progress and each of the bars/coffee shops were chockablock with travellers watching a game. As planes landed people would start to slowly move along the concourse towards the luggage pick up place, stopping at a bars/coffee shops along the way trying to catch a glimpse of what was going on. Knowing they had to get going (home) yet reluctant to go in case they missed something lol ~ Cathy
