Blue Crab

On our second day in Maryland, our son and daughter-in-law said they would be taking us to The Point Crab House and Grill in Arnold, Maryland. They had us watch a video first on how to eat a Maryland Blue crab.

The Point Crab House and Grill sits alongside Mill Creek, Maryland. We ate outside under the umbrellas.

When the crabs arrived, the idea of eating them seemed a bit daunting. They were covered with Old Bay seasoning. That was the first time we'd heard of Old Bay.

With prompting from our server, son, Keola and daughter-in-law, Sarah we managed to learn how to get the tasty, sweet morsels from the shell.

Sarah's dad, Keola and Tiffany took turns taking our 2 year old grandson JD for a walk while we enjoyed the crabs.

It was such a fun start to our visit to the East coast. It was just wonderful being together again to enjoy such a delicious experience. In fact, we loved the Old Bay so much that Keola bought us a can of it to bring home. We did discover later that they sell Old Bay in Hawaii. We have since sprinkled Old Bay on vegetables, fish, chicken, even popcorn and loved it!

  5. Hubby is the guy in charge of teaching our company how to eat crabs. We were so busy we only had three meals from our catches this year.

  8. Some things, like pistachio nuts and water chestnuts, are worth the work and effort to get to eat the good stuff inside. Looks delicious!

  9. Smaller and messier than our Dungeness crabs here, which we do not season, but dip the meat in lemon butter. Looks like you had a great time, though!

I really LOVE hearing from you! However, if you sign in as ANONYMOUS, please don't forget to tell me who you are in the comment box by just writing your first name. We would all appreciate it if you kept your comment respectful and kind.

I’m using Comment Moderation for any post that is more than a day old because of aggravating SPAM. Therefore, if your comment does not go up on an older (more than a day old) post, it's because I need to OK it first. I'm sorry to have to do this, but again... sigh... it's the spam that's driving me crazy.
