I guess this must be a retired seniors sort of thing. Art and a couple of our other friends keep their eyes open for dropped coins.
Art goes a step farther and takes photos of coin/coins and sends them to his friends.... and me.
He found two pennies today. Here's one of them.
Along with many other seniors, Art walks very early in the morning to avoid the blazing sun. He sends me photos which I look at AFTER I wake up.
One morning, this is what he found. It was the craziest thing! A pile of coins sitting on what looks like an electrical box!
It totaled $2.78!
What did he do with it?
He always drops the coins/money he finds (after he washes them) into the charity boxes where he picks up his senior coffee.
I found a penny yesterday and do you know what he did. Yup. Took a picture and added it to his charity stash.

That was an unusual find. Sounds like he has a good plan for his discoveries.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually bend over for a penny, but I do for anything bigger than that. I spend them on coffee, since I don't have a charity box nearby. :-)
ReplyDeleteI laughed so hard when I read this, I will tell you why. You know I am blind in one eye and only have partial sight in my other eye, well, I am the one that finds money all the time. Its because I have to always look at the ground when i walk, my vision span is very limited and it easier for me to keep my eyes turned down,, so Garry always calls me hawk eye because I have find money all the time. Art and I could make a killing if we combined our talents,, ok,, I'm still smiling, good for Art!! Have the best day Kay!
ReplyDeleteI find coins on occasion but have selfishly kept them. Love what Art does with his findings. I will rethink my actions.
ReplyDeleteI love how Art passes the coins on. I collect coins all month and then put them in the church collection plate on the first Sunday of the month for the Deacon Fund.

ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea to pick up the coins and put them in the charity box. I don't pick up coins but each one reminds me to think "in God we trust" which is printed on them.

ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea for loose change. I find change in the washing machine and put it into a bowl for the grands to do stuff when they come by. It used to be more money in their eyes, now it is just change.

I don't find coins very often on my walks. I don't bother with pennies either. I have an old salt box in the kitchen where I toss coins. As an extended family we used to donate all of our change to a chosen charity at a Christmas season gathering. but that tradition has not continued. I'm not sure what I did with the last cache of coins.
