3rd Trip to Japan!

I know, I know. It sounds crazy that we went back to Japan for a 3rd time this year. Since we moved back to Hawaii in 2007, we've gone to Japan every two years to take mom, my brother and aunt there to see relatives. When mom no longer felt she could travel, we've gone on tours.

Well, this year was an unexpected year. We lost a very dear friend in May and went to pay our respects and attend services in Tokyo. We were there for five days.

Our wonderful son-in-law had lost his father last November. I wonder if that had something to do with the fact he suddenly wanted for us to all go to Japan for a family vacation this summer.

Of course we were happy to go and have this special time together.

Our 3rd trip was the only one we had planned well in advance last year. We have traveled to Japan with Air and Sea Travel as well as Kobayashi Travel. However several friends told us that although they cost a bit more, we needed to try Tohoku Travel. So we did.

Do you think this year has been a bit crazy?

It only gets crazier! Art has convinced mom that since she'll be 90 next year, we need to take her back to Japan to see her family. And crazier still, she said OK.

  14. Since you are the Traveler's Wife, does Art qualify yet as the Traveler's Husband? He should.
You have done a LOT of traveling this year. How many days have you actually been home?

  15. Sounds like Mom didn't want to interfere with your "couple" or family plans to Japan. SO glad she wants to "party hardy" for her 90th. Glad she can still mentally enjoy most adventures, and you two are the BEST personalized tour guides. We enjoy your photo albums and traveling reports! Linda in Kansas

  19. Linda in Kansas: Mom doesn't like the bathrooms in airplanes or standing in line for the bathroom. The airline flights in general really wear her out.

I'm sorry to have to do this, but again... sigh... it's the spam that's driving me crazy.
