Two of mom's orchid plants had bloomed and I thought I'd share it with you. I took a bunch of photos and saw that something about that fuchsia color just wasn't turning out very clearly.

Comparing Our iPhones
Anyway, I asked Art to use his iPhone 12 to see if his pictures would turn out better.
OK... Fine. I'm sure he'll tell you it's got something to do with the photographer.
I'll bet mom will say it's got something to do with the gardener. 😂

LOL. Your mother would be right. Without the gardener, you and Art would have looked like ninnies taking pictures of your fence!
ReplyDeleteMy wife has an iPhone 11 and I have an iPhone 12. We upgraded from iPhone 6's a year apart. My iPhone 12 takes way better pictures so I'm guessing it is indeed the phone, or at least the software within the phone.
ReplyDeleteArt's photos are beautiful alright! Kay, you should hire this man to be your blog photographer. ;^)
ReplyDeleteWell, the angles are different so I guess that could be a decision made by the photographer. I limp along with my iphone 6. Call, text and camera are the only things I use. Other apps are totally wasted on me because I really prefer/need a larger screen.
ReplyDeleteI just upgraded from my iPhone 6 (wasn't holding a charge long) and since I heard that Apple wasn't supporting the 6 anymore, I upgraded... but not to the 14. I looked at all of them and decided on the iPhone SE - which is pretty much the same as the iPhone 13 but kept it's home button and although the photography and the memory is better than the 6, the 13 may have more bells and whistles. But I'm happy. The orchid plants are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy 12 takes way better photos than my 7 did. But the actual pictures you compare aren't that different besides your phone seeing more pink and Art's more purple.
ReplyDeleteThey look ok to me although yours is very saturated. The rendering of colours can change with the light, so who knows?
ReplyDeleteI wish to retract my previous comment. I agree with Anvilcloud, you just need to reduce that saturation a smudge. 🙂🌺
ReplyDeleteGolly, I thought all three were terrific. Good thing I am not a judge.
ReplyDeleteIt's got most to do with the light and light saturation. Taking the pics at slightly different angles and at less or greater distance makes for slight changes in outcome. But the orchid is beautiful in any light,
ReplyDeleteLighting makes a huge difference too haha.
ReplyDeleteSo is Art's phone newer than yours? I get so confused with all those upgrades. I think I have the 12.
ReplyDeleteMy iphone XR is a 10 to his 12. The 14 is out now. :-) I'm thinking about it.
DeleteLin says I have an iPhone 7 but not ready to spend thousands of dollars more to update just to have better photographs!
ReplyDeleteActually the iPhone 14 starts at $799 and the iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999. I do like nicer photos though.
DeleteI need an Art here to fix some things.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! I have learned to get in and tinker with my photos and bring out what I wanted to show. Interestingly,, did you ever hear of foc? That means fresh out of the camera. Not changed in any way. I very rarely share. an FOC photo. I begin with cropping. And then most photos have to be lightened or brightened whatever it's called in your setting. It's fun! I have noticed that vivid bright colors in full sun will sometimes just blur like that. It's a challenge to get the detail. Yes. Keep having fun. Mom has a green thumb!
ReplyDeleteI recently upgraded to a 12 from a 7, and the pictures are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI just upgraded from a 6s to a 12mini and notice the same improvement of color quality. Other things about the phone are driving me a little nuts though. Such as, alllllll these different ways to swipe to get different screens up. Anyway, your mom’s orchids are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLoved Debby's comment...
ReplyDeleteI have a tablet, I should try taking pictures with it and see if they come out as good as these.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like all three photographs :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
