One evening, a few nights after our return from Japan and Illinois, Art had mentioned to me sometime in the evening that he'd smacked and killed a cockroach in his sink in our bathroom.
A few hours later I woke up to use the bathroom and while washing my hands at my sink, I was surprised to find his cockroach on top of the Invisalign for my teeth that I had washed and left out to dry the evening before.
I called Art and he was shocked! He smacked the bug again and then had to smack it one more time before taking it out of the house.
We haven't seen such a giant American cockroach in a long time.
Well... we now knew we were back in Hawaii for sure.
POSTSCRIPT: I’m sorry I didn’t clarify that I threw away that set of Invisalign. I was already done with that week anyway so I just put on the next set. 😁
ICK! I'm sure you thoroughly cleaned the Invisalign before you used it again.
ReplyDeleteKay, my youngest granddaughter and I like 'bugs'.... but cockroaches are NOT among our likes. There is something very creepy about them. Kathy mentions "thoroughly cleaned"... the Invisalign, I would have to throw it away.

ReplyDeleteThat is a HUGE one! New York cockroaches are the German kind and usually not that large. They're big in Senegal though. I don't know how I would feel about wearing that Invisalign after the bug visit. Blech!
ReplyDeleteOh ugh. We will all now become hyper cockroach vigilantes (or at least I will). We never seem to get them here, perhaps they are eaten by the stink bugs, ladybugs, tiny ants and tiger mosquitoes that share the house with us.

ReplyDeleteEwww... You need to hire a couple of cute geckos to live in your house! The flies that want to come in from the heat have to be hit twice to croak. The little indoor zapper I have is funny: knats go right to it; the flies get zapped and fall down. Bugs are being tariffed these days! Linda in Kansas

ReplyDeleteWe captured a few of those when I was a kid staying on the Big Island. I recall we tried to build a maze for them to follow. They just crawled right up and out.

Ghastly sight to see in the middle of the night! Haven't see any of those around here thankfully but we do have the occasional box elder beetle or pincher bug.
