Lovebirds?

And this is just another post just to show you this photo that I've had for several months.

Art and I were on our evening walk when I came across this sweet little tête-à-tête. As we walked past, they were so intent on each other that they didn't even budge.

They sort of moved side to side but always facing each other and never more than a few inches apart. I'm glad a car didn't come by.

I'm not a fan of pigeons, but so long as they stay off our roof I'm OK with them.

What do you think they're doing?

  1. I’m guessing missus dove is asking mister dove why she has asked him to do something three times now and it still isn’t done!

  2. I agree, she is asking him why he didn't clean house while she was out shopping.

  3. How about "courting"?

  4. Could they be mother and child pigeons?

  5. If they were courting they'd be moving around quite a lot.

  7. They're cooing sweet nothings at each other!

  8. One has their chest all poofed out. That's sometimes a method to attract mates. If they're stuck on the road, like many young things, they aren't paying attention to all of the dangers! I vote for the poofy one chewing out the other one. Linda in Kansas

  9. It looks to me like they're trying to impress each other.

  10. Looks like she, on the left, is scolding, and he, all puffed up, is ignoring.

  11. One of them is surely laying down the law to the other one. And the gist may be 'get off the street, stupid.' I yell that at crows all spring and summer. And at turkeys, who are really small brained.

  12. Imagine that, a retired school teacher that grew up in Hawaii but doesn't understand pigeon. 🤷😅

  13. Somehow it says both courtship and aggression.

  14. You’ve got some good suggestions, so I won’t try adding to them.

  15. They definitely have something going on. I hope it's civil and not mean. Funny anyway.
