About three weeks ago, Mandy and Marilyn brought these gorgeous anthuriums to our China party.
This huge bouquet was spectacular!
Three or four of the heads have fallen off and the greenery died, but incredibly the others still look fresh! I wonder how long they'll last.
Anthuriums are very popular in Hawaii because they are so long lasting. I don't see them grown much in our area though. I see them more on the Big Island.
Art's neighbor and family friend from the Big Island brought tons and tons of anthuriums for our 1973 wedding above. His uncle sent over bamboo vases that he cut from his ranch forest along with fragrant maile vines. Back then our wedding with all the wedding clothes, food for 225 people, entertainment, favors, flowers, etc. cost well under $2,000.
Gee... I started this post about anthuriums and started talking about weddings. Sorry about the ramble. I think I'll go take a nap.
