About a year ago Bob's Big Boy suffered a terrible fire which closed the restaurant. We wondered why they did not renovate right away. We figured they might just go out of business in this economy.
Therefore we were really surprised to see that they were open for business this morning. Granted, their menu was limited and there was no doubt that they were opening without much renovation having been completed. I have a feeling their kitchen is not totally operational because I could swear I saw them grilling food outside of the restaurant from the highway.
However, we enjoyed our breakfast and had a long talk with our waitress who told us about how the economy was causing her family a lot of stresses in their family life. I think the waitresses at Bob's Big Boy are the best thing about the place. They are always so friendly and kind.

It'll be interesting to see how their renovation continues. I'm glad to see they are rising from the ashes.
