Our State Flower

A lot of people think our state flower is the red hibiscus.  Actually, since 1988, it's the yellow hibiscus that is supposed to be our state flower.  The yellow hibiscus is native to our islands.  I have noticed more and more yellow hibiscus being planted around the island.

Hibiscus are supposed to have five petals and come in many colors.

Therefore, it was fun to find this blossom choosing to be original with only four petals.

Who knows?  Maybe I'll find one with six or maybe three.

I'll keep my eyes open.
