I was not happy that our Republican Governor, Linda Lingle went on the campaign trail for Sarah Palin and John McCain but her very (I'm sorry to say this) stupid comments about Barack Obama not really having strong island roots was pitiful, especially coming from somebody born in Missouri and raised in California. President-elect Obama was born and raised here (except for a few years in Indonesia) until high school. But, I guess that's not good enough for her. I was born and raised here but left after college for Illinois so I suppose I have only a little more island connection than he does. Shame on her! I'm so mad about this. Wait, wait, I have to find my happy place...
Oh nuts! Never mind.
But the worst thing of all that she could have done was to not attend yesterday's Governor's meeting with President-elect Obama. Suddenly, she's too busy.
Puh-leeease... This is so childish and churlish.
(Honolulu Advertiser: "Her spokesmen defended the political trips by saying Lingle is able to run her administration whether she is physically in the state or not. She can't have it both ways.")
John McCain showed a lot more class than her. I'm thinking a lot of island voters will think twice before voting for her next time. She is not showing much dignity or aloha as the leading representative of our state.

I guess when election day comes we can show them exactly how we feel!

Sounds like she's throwing stones from a glass house with the comments...not attending the meeting seems like just poor leadership, and you're right, it looks childish.

ReplyDeleteHer behavior shows what a low rent, no class person she is which demonstrates why she and Sarah are buds. One of the things I like best about Obama is that he is definitely a class act with impeccable manners and that he refused to get "down and dirty" like a certain Alaskan governor. How dumb is she to snub the man who will soon be running this country?

Sounds as if she's got plenty of 'class', all of it of the 'lower' quality. I have nothing but praise for Palin, after all, she seems to have done more to elect Obama than most Obama supporters did. She's a classic example of what I call the 'vote for me because I think you're uncouth & uneducated and to prove it I'll act that way so we can be pals' syndrome. Dumbing yourself down to what you 'think' is 'my level' won't get my vote.
