I got the following e-mail this morning when I awoke.

"Hi Mom and Dad,
We made it back on an uneventful flight. KC slept about an hour….the last hour of the flight. I did not sleep and spent much of the flight trying to keep her from kicking/touching the guy next to her and in front. She did well for the most part, was just working on the shouting esp when she had ear phones in.
I’m exhausted. I’ve already unpacked, on the 2nd load of laundry, made KC’s lunch, sorted mail, garbage out. So tired but need to get through all this for cleaning service…to hopefully come this afternoon. I haven’t heard back from them regarding a time. Jeez.
Hope this all makes sense. Tif"
We just got a phone call from Tiffany. She still hadn't gotten any sleep. She'd also taken KC to school (where KC ended up falling asleep) while Tif did some grocery shopping, cleaned out the fridge, and got the house ready for her in-laws arriving this weekend.
KC is still sleeping in her room while Tif is scurrying about probably ready to drop. I don't know where she gets the energy. I hope she doesn't get sick like I did by pushing herself so much.
You guys just hear too well when duty calls.
ReplyDeleteI hope Tif gets some sleep. She needs to rejuvenate before the in-laws arrive. By the way, Tif is just a beautiful girl. I love that picture of her, bandage and all.
ReplyDeleteI'm someone who gets severe jetlag, esp. flying west to east, and barely sleep a wink for days afterwards. It sounds as if you and Tiffany are much the same.
ReplyDeleteIt all works out - we've all been there. Thank goodness when little ones assume older people's sleep and relaxation patterns . . . it takes time :-/ Poor Tif - hope she'll be feeling less washed-out soon :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you're COMPLETELY to blame - how dare you pass on those busy genes? . . . ;-))
ReplyDeleteI am never able to sleep on the plane. I know what she's going through! But, she is slim and probably had more seat and leg room than David had flying to and from Hong Kong.
ReplyDeleteYes, she is a daughter every mother wishes to have.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I'm exhausted just hearing about her and YOU! lol!
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone got home safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteyeah where does she get the energy despite the jet lag.
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing! I would be sleeping for days after all this...I did have to chuckle over the fact that KC fell asleep at school...little ones can get away with that!

ReplyDeleteAwww, you two are book ends :) Even with her bandaid on her forehead she is a beautiful girl Kay. Hope you feel better too.

Wow, what a trooper -- just the flight would have done anyone in. Keeping the kids entertained and seated is hard work and (to me anyhow) pure misery! I hope Tif gets plenty of rest soon -- and something to spoil her a bit too. Sounds like she's earned it!
