I've been very busy scanning our photo albums and came across a whole bunch of photos my mother sent me in 1992. (Feel free to click on the photos to enlarge them.) My brother, Dennis and my sister-in-law, Nancy decided to take my mom, dad and their three sons on a two week trip to California and Nevada. I remember sending them some jackets for the cold weather in March.

Well, looking at these photos I'm just flabbergasted! Dennis and Nancy must have nerves of steel, not to mention boundless energy to have done all this. I just grouped some representative sampling here of the places they visited in TWO WEEKS!

On top of all the driving they did around California and Nevada they also had to keep track of their little toddler, Cody, their oldest son, Shawn who is blind and their middle son, Barry who came down with Chicken Pox during the trip!

Mom says they had a totally fabulous time and she has extremely happy memories that still make her smile. She especially loves to remember how happy her grandsons were.
So if anybody ever tells you that WE take hectic trips, here's proof that somebody else is even more so able to squeeze in every last drop of fun for their family.Wow! I got tired just looking at all the photos!
I could never cope with that much activity on vacation. You guys must be strong people.
ReplyDeleteBeing on a holiday invites us to see as much as possible. Your mum is quite a lady, who is interested in many things and very active! I admire her!
ReplyDeletewow, I've lived in these areas my whole life and haven't seen half of what they crammed into their vacation...lol!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they saw more than the residents of CA and NV see in their entire lives! In fact, here in Hawaii, most tourists see more attractions than I ever have or will.
ReplyDeleteScanning old photos takes a lot longer than expected. Not because of the routine works of scanning. Rather, you look at photo for hours and recollect memories!
ReplyDeleteI, too, scan old films quite often when I post photos taken by my old film camera.
Thanks for sharing:)

That was one BUSY trip!! Amazing! But it does look as though they all had a wonderful time and that's all that matters! And what great memories! I have to admit though that they're braver than I am -- at least these days! Aren't you glad to have all the fun photos? All of your can relive the trip anytime -- well, anytime you have enough energy!! Hope you have a great day, Kay!

Amazing that they could have accomplished so much! Did they need a rest when they got back from vacation?

ReplyDeleteGood gracious - there's enough there to fill a couple of months!

ReplyDeleteI like to cram as much stuff in as I can too:)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited just seeing all the fun they must have had!
Kay, you ain't never gonna finish this project, LOL. And, yeah, that photo on your banner is fantastic. The shimmer in the water under the shade. Tranquil, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by TNS and commenting.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, that header is positivily stunning.
As for that vacation, sometimes one needs a vacation to rest up from a vacation. They certainly took advantage and saw it all.
Some people can manage to get a lot out of a vacation and others are not up to that much. Thank you for coming by.
ReplyDeleteWhen overachievers take a holiday!
ReplyDeleteApparently nobody in your family understands that vacations are supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt seems you are all very high powered people.
ReplyDeleteThey did about one place a day. Thats not bad!
ReplyDeleteYep, that's the way we travel! We squeeze in twice asmuch as the usual tourist, and love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic trip Kay. I enjoyed looking at all the photos, some I have visited. I remember taking Brad on the Queen Mary when he was still in a stroller. We lived in Long Beach for a while. We also pack a lot into our vacations and see as much as we can in the time we have. Always a lot of fun to see what is over that hill.
ReplyDeleteSuperFamily!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Kay, thanks for sharing the photos. At the time it didn't seem rushed at all. We loved being able to share this trip with Mom and Dad...I can still see that wonderful smile on his face while watching the electrical parade at Disneyland! Mom was just taken in with everything we did ... she has such a wonderful adventurous spirit and never seemed to tire! The boys were fantastic with all of us piled into a van and enduring long drives. It really was a great trip...thanks again for sharing the pics!
