His Way-My Way

I wasn't feeling very well the other day and wasn't looking forward to cutting the large pineapple we'd received.

I know it doesn't take all that long to cut, but I was just feeling tired.



Last year, I showed you how I cut pineapple.




I always cut them so we have bite sized pieces to eat.



Eventually I came downstairs to cut the pineapple and was surprised to find that Art had already done it for me.


He looked mighty proud of himself.

Ummmmmm...

"How do you plan to eat this?" I asked.

"Uuuhhh... I left that part for you to do," he answered.

You've got to admit he did a meticulous job of it!

    The Whole Foods store here sells whole peeled and cored pineapple. It's even pockmarked like Art's!

    That was some efficient peeling job. Every eye gone. Applause from here.

    I had such a busy day yesterday that I only now got to your yesterdays blog. Yes, all the screens were wood framed here too. The termites didn't get them, but the salt air made then rot around the copper screening. We went through the aluminum screen stage too. Now we have plastic frames with plastic netting. Maybe they will last a while. LOL

    wow he even got the eyes out. We had pineapple slices canned the other day and they were tasteless. The real stuff is much better and especially in Hawaii...lol!

    Seeing Art's pineapple brought back memories. Remember working at Dole Cannery during the summer and riding the bus home smelling like pineapple?

    Art really did a good job. I guess he dug out the pineapple's "eyes" one by one carefully. For me, I will just cut all the "eyes" our diagonally in a long strip.

    I'm very lazy, I guess. I leave the eyes in and spit them out, like watermelon seeds. I don't have Art's patience.

    Nice job. I was told that eating fresh pineapple would help heal the bruises from my bike accident. Even if it wasn't a factor in healing, it tastes good.

    Having worked at the cannery, you should be excused from messing with pineapple. Art really didn't want to waste any part of that pretty pineapple. Looks beautiful!

    Wow! I sure wish I could eat fresh pineapple, but I cannot. It eats away at my mouth and tongue. This sure is a good job he did, Kay. What happened next? :-)

    That's like the efficient job C does when he cleans the bathrooms. It's an 'all or nothing' job. Well done Art. And I'm sure the fresh pineapple helped to perk you up.

    We get wonderful Maui pineapples at the farmers market,and Terry cuts them up. We eat two a week.
