DJan of DJan-ity recommended a book a while back titled The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Swedish author Jonas Jonasson.
I was able to upload it to my Kindle from our public library and really enjoyed it. It reminded me of Forrest Gump.
And yes, it's about a 100 year old man who climbs out the window of his retirement home and has a lot of adventures.
The book has sold over 6 million copies worldwide and DJan says they're in the process of making a movie about it. I wonder which actor would play the 100 year old man.
I recommended the book to Art and he's suddenly become so engrossed, he can't seem to put it down.
It's not my usual sort of book, but I had fun reading it. You might too. Have you read any books that you would recommend?

I just recently discovered (thanks to my sister) an author by the name of JoJo Moyes. I read one book by her that I really liked, and now I'm reading another, called "Me Before You." A tearjerker, one that makes me laugh and cry. Glad you enjoyed the 100-Year-Old Man. :-)

ReplyDeleteI ordered a used copy of the book from Powell's and enjoyed reading it. I would read it in the evening this past winter and laugh out loud. The story is quite nonsensical but written in a way to make it seem like it could happen that way.

"From the Kitchen of Half Truth" by Maria Goodin ...one I just finished. Not a huge challenge of a read and at first seems a little Hallmark romance, but redeems itself by the end.

ReplyDeleteI have this one but had such a difficult time getting into it that I put it to one side. Ask Art if it's really worth while reading; I'll try slogging through it again.
