I was really loving Costco because of the photobooks and I still love those.
However, then I learned that the edamame I thought was grown in the U.S. was actually only packaged in California but grown in China.
Then I found these DKNY Jeans shorts that I could use for Zumba. I bought it and brought it home. They seemed to fit perfectly. I was happy with Costco again.
When I bought it, one side was buttoned up to show you that you could have a choice of leg heights.
At home, I looked at it closely and discovered that the button on one side was about 3/4 of an inch (about 2 cm.) higher. I could have tried resewing the button, but the tab to hold up the folded leg material was also at a different level.
Sigh...
We'll have to make a trip back to Costco to return it for a hopefully non-defective one.
I still like their photobooks though.
POSTSCRIPT: I went to Costco, returned the shorts and got two more in different colors after checking to make sure the buttons were at the same height.
I can't wait to show them to my Zumba buddies.

I rarely wear shorts any more, and those I do wear go down to my knees. If I lived in Hawaii, I would wear them. You look great in them, and I'm sure your Zumba buddies will admire your new shorts. :-)

Very cute shorts, Kay...sorry they were such a headache, but Cosco is pretty good about exchanges and refunds.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you were able to exchange your short and get the right ones, thank goodness for that. Having to return things is not one of my favorite things to do though, such a hassle. I'm looking forward to hearing how the shorts go over in Zumba class.

ReplyDeleteA DKNY flub. So glad you found some that fit and the buttons are in the right place. I get cheap cotton things at Tarjay instead. Lots of needed stretch.

ReplyDeleteGlad it wasn't system wide and just a pair that sneaked past inspector #3. Must have been a new employee sewing that day. Gone are the days when we can just pick up something in a store and expect it to be right.

ReplyDeleteI've never done a chemical assay of mame but it would be interesting if someone with access to a lab could do a screen of some? to check for residual levels of pesticides and fertilizers even though they are billed as "organic." We don't actually eat them, we just love chasing them across the floor when they pop out of the pod. 5 second rule!

DeleteSeveral years ago I bought a case of gallon sized Ziploc from Costco. I didn't use it right away since I had other loose boxes to use first. When I finally got to it I found the zip closure comes apart no matter how many times I zip it. I still have the case, hoping maybe not every bag is defective. I never had that problem buying Ziplocs from nonwarehouse stores.

DeleteDon't they require a receipt? So long ago too, maybe the UPC's don't match up to what they currently sell. I should have returned it when I first found out, but it was already a few years since I bought it. But I don't think I'll buy another case like that again.
