I have a wonderful daughter who often lets us know that she's thinking of us. While on a run along Lake Michigan's lakeshore in Chicago with a friend, Tiffany texted a few photos she knew we would enjoy. When I asked her if I could post them on my blog, she sent me more to choose from.
These ice formations on the metal fencing looked like cut glass with the sun sparkling through.
I've always loved the incredible beauty of sculptures that ice storms would leave behind. Sometimes, it would be destructive, but I would forget that when I saw what nature could also create.
It's March, but I don't think spring is coming to Chicago in the next week or two or three.

ReplyDeleteI used to marvel at the power of Lake Erie when I lived by the lakeshore. Summer storms are awesome and go; winter storms stay to show us how awesome they were.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful ice sculptures from nature! I live not far from the shores of Lake Erie and they are predicting a very warm week for us - 71 degrees on Wednesday. From my window I see witch hazel and snowdrops in bloom. And sunshine! That will not thrill you as much as it does me. But I am delighted. Light is returning. Daylight savings time next weekend.
