Hello Everybody!
I'm back from our trip to the East coast and Midwest. However, I now have almost 4,000 photos to go through and create photobooks for my granddaughter and grandson to remember this memorable summer.
We saw and did so much! And yes, we saw totality on August 21st, but not without a lot of planning and readjustment by my Super Techie son-in-law.
I'm afraid I'll still need to continue my hiatus but I've already created a long list of ideas for posts that I'll be writing about our fun, aggravating, touching, maddening, loving, educational, fabulous experiences. (Once I'm done with the photobooks, that is.)
Thank you so much for caring about me and letting me know you're thinking about what I'm up to. I'm sending you all my aloha from the middle of the Pacific.

OK, OK... You guys are too funny! Yes, I did get off the ground, but just not at the same time as Art and KC. Sigh... Not as easy as you might think.

My brother in law and grandson saw totality too and have similar photos and videos of themselves Freaking out. So I guess you'll be doing a lot of catching up in the next weeks. Unless you are off again somewhere?

ReplyDeleteGlad you returned home safe & sound. Sounds like a wonderful trip. I have to ask, how do you make your photobooks, and how do your store your photos on your computer? I am having one heck of a time trying to get all of my photos in one place on my hard drive. Thanks for any help you can send my way!
ReplyDeleteI have a Pictures folder on my desktop. In it, I put folders labeled with date (Year, Month and Trip Name). Inside of those folders I save photos by day in separate folders, again labeled Year, Month and Day.
DeleteAs for how I do my photobooks. It's a rather involved process. I create my pages on a program called PhotoRecord that I got through Canon. I believe you can get a free download online, but it's a newer version than what I have. I prefer the older one.
Anyway, once I get my pages created, we upload them to the Costco Photo Center to publish our photobook. There's a maximum of 100 pages so it forces me to edit carefully. We choose the Custom Photo Cover option that starts at $17.99. If I get 100 pages, it runs under $50. I can't remember how much exactly. I have to admit it's not really easy, but we've been satisfied with the results.
AND I always back up my photos on an external drive... just in case.

Thanks for sharing how you do your photo books. I've been thinking of doing something similar and Snapfish online seems to offer a lot of possibilities as well as frequent discounts. I order reprints through the site and have been satisfied.
