Every few days a huge, gorgeous, fresh floral arrangement graced the lobby area of our MyStay Omori hotel.
Yes, it was another HOT day.
We had a late start, but it was decided to go to Tsukiji Market.
Since we didn't really know what the plans were for the day we couldn't tell them that the auctioning of seafood area would probably be over.
In the past, we'd go to Tsukiji very early in the trip because that's when our Circadian rhythms would still be synchronized to Hawaii time and we would wake up at 3 AM and be out the door by 4:00. We'd then get to eat very fresh seafood for breakfast in the Tsukiji area.
By the time we got there, they were cleaning up the auction area and the seafood had been sold.
Still... there were some things for KC and Ed to experience.
Tiffany found a place selling fugu and bravely decided to try some. Fugu is a pufferfish that can be lethal if not prepared properly.
Yes, she ate it and lived to tell the story. Ed loves maguro (Ahi in Hawaiian or tuna) sashimi and was on the hunt for the best of the best.
One of Tiffany's friends had told her about this tako senbei (octopus cracker). Would you believe the fellow actually dropped octopus into a thin flour mixture and then grilled it flat? You ended up with a crispy, totally flat octopus. Everybody pronounced it amazingly delicious!
Our next stop was Tokyo Station.

Why did we go there?
KC had some extreme shopping to do at their character stores. The Tokyo Station basement is full of stores selling different character items. Yes, Disney also.
I thought she was going to buy a lot since she did have money to burn from very generous friends. However, she was very selective and came out with just a few special treasures to bring home. I think the pleasure was all in the hunt for that elusive something.
It was another interesting day and I had logged in a lot of steps on my Fitbit. I was ready to call it a day.
