We were At Sea again. No port to visit. We would be leaving the ship the following day. It was a day to pack and NOT FORGET anything.
There were so many drawers and spaces to leave things behind that I really didn't want to make a mistake. I'll bet I looked in those drawers a dozen times.
We did take a walk around the deck to look at the endless expanse of ocean.
Mom was tiring and beginning to cough. Uh oh...
There were a LOT of sick, coughing people onboard the ship.
Mom's appetite for desserts was not yet diminished. She wasn't hungry for much else though which had us a little concerned.
Art ate the macaroons just because he wanted to take a photo to show our granddaughter. KC loves macaroons. She has expensive taste.
We attached the tags to our luggage which were to be placed outside our door before dinner. Art actually fell asleep on the deck. Gracious! That man can sleep anywhere, anytime.
We had another lovely dinner at the Santa Fe Restaurant and gave our main servers some tips of appreciation and macadamia nut candy which they loved.
That evening, mom was tired and wanted to sleep so Art and I went to see Lena McKenzie (opera singer) on our own.
I was getting tired too and already thinking about the day of travel ahead. Art? Nope. He is the perpetual Energizer bunny.

When you can nap at the drop of the hat, I guess you (ie Art) can store up a lot of energy.
ReplyDeleteI would be so worried about forgetting things as well! It was such a beautiful trip and to have shared this with your Mum is wonderful! She looks so happy.

another successful trip thx for commenting on my blog.
ReplyDeleteSure hope there isn't a bug going around on the ship and that your Mom is OK. I love the water and it is so relaxing. Can see why Art dropped off so easily.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get off? It all does look lovely. Thank you for taking us along with you three.
ReplyDeleteEvery group needs an energizer bunny to keep them going.
ReplyDeleteIt's tough on the road and being sick.
ReplyDeleteYou do have marvellous adventures!
It's amazing what they have on those ships, isn't it!?! And those desserts look like quite the treats!
ReplyDeleteCruise Crud and Noro - two things that can ruin a good holiday. Hopefully your mum didn't come down with either of them.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your final thoughts of your trip.
Unfortunately, she did catch a virus and it got pretty scary for the first couple of weeks back in Hawaii. She took a whole month to recover, but she's back to normal again. Thank goodness! I've been working on photobooks for her so she can remember the trip.
DeleteI suspected that Mom had picked up something from your description. Fortunately she has recovered, and the virus waited until the trip was over! :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you were winding down, getting ready to transition. But, oh, desserts!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could bring nothing on trips so I wouldn't forget anything.
ReplyDeleteYour mom's delight in desserts makes me smile too. (Reminds me of my own mom.)
