Art has enjoyed putting puzzles together during these COVID-19 stay-at-home days. He's never been one for puzzles, but he's really enjoying the challenge of it now.
It was our daughter who first sent him a couple of Ravensburg puzzles to do and from there it's been COVID history. I've written about this before. I must say Ravensburg does make quality puzzles.
And then, for his birthday, Tiffany and her family sent this 1,014 piece photo puzzle from Shutterfly. It was really pretty and we planned to frame it somehow.
However, after completing everything, he discovered that two of the puzzle pieces just didn't fit. Tiffany contacted Shutterfly and they sent him another puzzle. Art hoped that he could just find those two pieces and replace the non-fitting ones.
Nope! The pieces were different.

Wow, that photo-puzzle is pretty awesome looking! But those misfit pieces are a real shame, and weird & frustrating about the replacement. If they have a reviews page, I'd be honest about this. You deserve better and so do future customers. PS. Kay you always share great pictures, Art looks good :)
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy.
ReplyDeleteI think that's very weird. I too thought the puzzle was created all at once. I wonder what happened. I would complain yet again! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is really crazy. Looking at the first two pieces that didn't fit, does the bottom one not fit at the top space? Those pieces look so much the same. I think I've only purchased puzzles for children which amounts to 12-24 pieces. They didn't get that wrong.
ReplyDeleteVery strange.
ReplyDeleteinteresting, where are the missing pieces...what a cute idea-I've made books but not puzzles from shutterfly but don't want one with missing pieces...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the intended result. Yep, I'm thinking the company should try again, and reimburse your daughter. Your puzzles can't be the only ones with that mistake. So...yep, fill in the part with some thick cardboard, and paint or Sharpie the missing slivers, maybe add some shine to the surface and frame those lovely photos! OR, Art's such a "fix anything kind of guy," they should buy him a ticket to head to the company and fix the machine that's not doing the correct job cutting out the puzzle! Oh, yea, Covid.... ReplyDeleteThat is beyond weird. Like you I thought they just machined the picture. How could pieces not fit? That is also a puzzle and I would contact them again.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unexpected disaster. Yes, contact them and seee if you can create a new piece. :)
ReplyDeleteYou've given me a good suggestion to keep myself occupied once we stay in more. I like jig saw puzzles.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's not good. Sure just color it in and put a note on the back saying it was completed in 2020. That can explain everything.
ReplyDeleteHow disappointing!
ReplyDeleteWe did quite a few puzzles when the girls were here over the past 6 months. It was fun.
The 2nd last puzzle was missing ONE PIECE! My poor granddaughter!
Sheesh! Neat puzzle anyway!
ReplyDeleteDoes life have meaning?
ReplyDeleteI thought they made puzzles in that way and so I am frankly...puzzled! You commented on my fake blog; my real one is here: https://teacherwoman.typepad.com. Sorry about the link to my email not working. :(
ReplyDeleteThats weird! So frustrating to have even one puzzle piece missing or that doesn't fit. I think you should report this second error to co.
