A dear family friend surprised us with blue roses a few weeks ago. It was obviously artificially created by having the roses soak up blue dye. The ink used by the florist caused many of the leaves and petals to fall off pretty quickly.

Roses are Blue...
Mom walked into the living room and asked, "How did you get those roses to bloom for so many weeks? And why isn't there water in the vase?"
I told her, "magic." 😁

You made me giggle. Gluing petals on dried roses, Kay? I think it's time for this crazy pandemic to be over!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I am ready!!
ReplyDeleteHaha-- Kay, they do look amazing! You don't let much go to waster, do you :^)
ReplyDeleteI have seen that done with sunflowers to make them redder. It is a really effective technique.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of such a thing. I may have to try it out the next time we get some flowers.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. Where there's a will, there's a way.
ReplyDeleteHaha... Lovely "magicc" blue roses :)
ReplyDeleteThose blue roses were a bit of a shock but beautiful. Surprised the florists don't use the glue trick.
ReplyDeleteOnce again you show us your cleverness.
ReplyDeleteLove those blued glued flowers. Made me smile this morning.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out where you put the glue. Looks amazing. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI just dribbled a bit of glue where the petals attach to the stem. I should get some fake greenery to go with it someday.
DeleteWell, they are pretty.
ReplyDeleteLOL, magic! Love it!
ReplyDeleteMom is fooled haha. I don’t like the idea of the blue dye.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a huge fan either. The dye comes off on your hands too. At first I thought they were painted. However, when they dry, they don’t turn brown. The ink hides everything.
DeleteYou and art are magically resourceful. And Mom is delightful
ReplyDeleteAren't you the resourceful one!
ReplyDeleteI love blue, but I'm not sure how I feel about blue roses, especially if the dye comes off. You are very creative!!
ReplyDeleteQuite resourceful!
ReplyDeleteDelightful. Magic indeed. LOL
ReplyDeleteMagic!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's magic ... looks good (although dye can be messy)!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
