Oh gosh! I almost missed my 14th Blogaversary!
I wrote:
"It's another snowy day in Illinois. Once again my husband was out there shoveling his way out the door to get the morning newspaper. It does make us think about what it will be like next winter when we have made our move back to Hawaii after 33 years. It's a move we do with some melancholy because we hate leaving behind our daughter, son in law and precious granddaughter who is the light of our eyes."
And that was all.
There were no comments since I hadn't met any other bloggers except my Israeli friend, Dina who started me on this journey for which I'll always be grateful.
So much has happened in those 14 years and it's all documented on this blog. It's rather amazing that when I forget when something happened, I just have to do a search and it's there.
The most wonderful thing about having this blog is that I have met so many wonderful, brilliant, innovative, talented, fun, friendly, loving people who have become part of my cyber family. Thank you for always being there for me and thank you especially for keeping me company during this pandemic.
I've been writing occasional posts this past month which I scheduled to start posting on March 2nd while I continue working on my magnum opus family project. I'm on 2019. And then comes the editing. Sigh...
I started my blog in 2008 too...maybe earlier. I need to check that out. I always enjoy yours but could not read your last one.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary!
ReplyDeleteI started by blog in 2006. Lots has happened. February 29 is the anniversary of my husband’s passing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I've also referred to my blog when I need to know the date of a past event.
ReplyDeleteHappy Bloggaversary Kay! I've been trying to remember how I even found your blog, but I'm glad I did. Wish we had a cake to celebrate the event! 🎂
ReplyDeleteHappy 14th blog anniversary! I started mine in (maybe Aug) 2007.
ReplyDeleteHappy blog anniversary. I also started mine in 2008, in December.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Day! I've enjoyed watching your entries. Even when you take your well-deserved breaks, I can still cruise through your blog roll. You're the hub and gateway to lots of interesting lives! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteAwww... Thank you, Linda. Blogging is what led me to having such a knowledgeable friend like you.
DeleteCongratulations! I'm nearing my 20th year of blogging and I can tell you first hand, the number of people who make it past ten years are a tiny fraction of those who start blogging. I look back at all those commenters from way back then and compare them to now and not a single one overlaps. I have one that goes back probably 15 of those years and most of the rest are within the last handful of years.
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging since at least 2004; I began on AOL Journals, and when AOL ended that, I moved to Blogger in 2006. Happy blog anniversary!
ReplyDeleteCongrats big time on 14 years. Sure goes fast doesn't it? This is my 12th year. A blog really is a great memory boost isn't it? We can go right back to the day in question and relive it. I miss some of those who supported me in the beginning but feel blessed with those who stuck around. Blogging is the best.
ReplyDeleteI started Nov 2007 so It's my blog anniversary also #15. I remember your help and support on getting going. So fun to watch the growth of your family. Lin in Utah
ReplyDeleteSo glad you blog - and for 14 years!
ReplyDeleteI too am very glad you are here. I start my days with you, and when you are taking a break, I sure miss you. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou are part of my digital family, and I am so very glad you continue to blog and are still hanging in there! I look forward to the next decade or so together as part of the community. And sending lots of hugs during this trying time. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary, dear Kay! I‘m so glad I found your blog several year ago.
ReplyDeleteHi Karin! Thank you so much. I looked to see if you had a blog and couldn't find it. You should join our cyber family. :-)
DeleteOh, it's good to "see" you! And if it's your blogaversary, mine can't be far behind. I have used my blog to look up past events too.
ReplyDeleteI was housekeeping in old blog entries this weekend, and was so amused to see how few read my first year's blogs, and how few commented. I began in 2011, so I'm eleven years in.
ReplyDeleteI think I started in 2004. So much has changed over the years and the old posts are interesting and sometimes painful to read.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on number 14. You've written many blogs of all types: funny, rant, informative, thought provoking. And you are a great commenter and if you've missed posts you are dedicated and go back and make comments. So here's to another 14 years.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I enjoy your posts. You have such fun and work so hard.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogoversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy 14th blog anniversary, and happy wishes for the new month of March.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
