I began my blog on February 29th, 2008 which was a Leap Year. I can hardly believe it's been 15 years!
We were getting ready to move to Hawaii. It was hard saying goodbye to very dear friends in my Chicagoland neighborhood and teacher friends who were like family. It was hardest to leave my daughter, son-in-law and new, precious granddaughter.Dina, my Israeli friend had encouraged me to start this blog and I decided to give it a try with her help.
I met Linda, DJan, Lin, Sherri that first year and some others who have since sadly left the blogging world.
But since then, I've met so many other blogging and commenting friends that make me smile everyday. Thank you. Thank you.
You have all added so much fun and advice that I have been truly grateful for.
Thank you for being my friends. Thank you for challenging me. Thank you for keeping me company from so many distant places and giving me another interesting point of view. You are the BEST!

Congratulations! This fall, I will be approaching my 20th blogaversary.
ReplyDeleteWe moved to be with our kids. It’s more wintry here than our previous location (by a little) but I am glad we did it. I am sure you are pleased with your decision as well. With leap years taken into effect, I guess you blog is only 5 years old in a sense. 😎
ReplyDeleteI started blogging in 2007, a year before you. If you had mentioned it, I totally did not really I have been blogging for 16 years. Nice knowing you thru blogging. Let's keep blogging!
ReplyDeleteApplause. You're probably one of the few who has maintained a blog so regularly. Oh, just calculated how long I've been doing this: it will be 15 as well in July. I had no idea it's been that long. My only comment on that first post was from my youngest daughter who was headed off to China later that summer for her first job after graduation.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I started in 2007...I love blogging...it's so much more personal that Facebook.
ReplyDeleteSo happy I found you!
hugs
Donna

DeleteHappy Blog Birthday! It's been nearly 20 years for me--hard to believe!! I love visiting here; you have such interesting events and perspectives to share.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary! You were just a few words behind me! I started blogging in November 2007, 3 years before I retired because I was told I had no online persona and no one would want to hire someone to do marketing for them if I didn't know how to promote my own self. No on wanted to hire me anyway, just have me volunteer!
ReplyDeleteIt's been delightful connecting with you and your family and your lovely residence in Hawaii through your blog. Hope you keep writing for many more years.
Wow. Good for you! I am approaching 17 years! People do come and go, as is the way of the world!

DeleteCongratulations Kay, that is a wonderful achievement. I started blogging in April 08 with my old blog which is now closed and I started fresh in 2016. I didn’t realize at first that it was open to the whole world and was shocked when my first visitor left a comment. I love my blogging family. You have all been wonderfully supportive on this journey. I have enjoyed getting to know you and your dear family and have learned a lot from my visits. Happy blogging for many more years to come :)
