One Little Flower

We were out for our morning walk on a cloudy morning. Nobody else was around. There were worries in the back of my mind.

Suddenly something caught my eye.

It was a bit of golden yellow fighting its way out of a rock wall. I stopped, turned to look and it made me smile.

Art saw me turn and smile.

"You should take a photo of it," he said.

I did.

And he did too.

Isn't it funny how sometimes, it doesn't take much to lift your spirits?

And then...

A few days later, I saw this.

Yes, I know it's a weed growing where it shouldn't but I'm smiling right now just looking at the photo.

  4. Well, some may call them weeds but they certainly brighten up a dreary day.

  6. The last shouldn't be called a weed rather a "wild" flower.

  7. That last one looks like a daisy--so pretty! There is a lot to take away from flowers (or wild ones) blooming in impossible looking situations. We can do that too.

  8. I love those yellow flower "weeds" in the sidewalk! They pop up in my yard when I don't expect them and are so pretty, we don't cut the grass.

  12. In my horticultural book that is not a weed. It is beautiful and so is that poppy, glowing there all on it's own.
Bloom where you are planted, however you are planted.

  13. It's more like a bouquet than a weed.

  14. Surprising that many plants and establish and exist in such limited circumstances.

  19. I don't think either flower would be counted as a weed. They certainly bring delight to the eye, no matter what they are.
