Decision #3 (Treadmill): Done!

Yes! We did manage to make another decision to complete our move to Hawaii. We bought a Precor treadmill from Total Fitness USA in Honolulu. We considered an elliptical, but it once hurt my knees and I thought the movement would be too difficult for my mother.

We liked the Precor because it has a 1 year labor and 10 year parts warranty built in. We didn't have to buy an extra plan.

It was delivered yesterday. When I saw the guys checking out the directions, I had to ask if they'd put one together before.

They laughed and assured me that they had.

We opted to get the one with handlebars just to be on the safe side when mom gets on.

The guys really got done in likety split and made sure it was in working order.

We showed mom how to work the buttons and she tried it out. Now she'll be able to get some exercise even when it rains! We're planning to use it, too.

Art's worried this exercise machine will end up as a clothes hanger like my Nordic track ski machine. Do you have an exercise machine? Do you use it regularly? Tell the truth, now.

POSTSCRIPT: When I went down for breakfast this morning, Art said mom had already gone on the treadmill and proudly proclaimed that she logged on 13 miles!!!

"What??? Holy cow! Are you serious?" I nearly fell down.

"Kay, that's half a marathon."

"I know," I said, "getting quite worried.

"She was really sweating," Art said with a smile (or was that a smirk?). "Think," he told me.

Uh oh! I get it. She had actually walked 13 minutes and didn't think to put the fan on overhead. I told her she should use the air conditioner, even though I know she hates artificially cooled air. However, she agreed she definitely would next time.

I'm glad the solar panels will be installed in November. I wish it were tomorrow since we'll be using extra energy.
