Mom has been coming out of her side of the house every morning after I whip up her morning mocha saying, "The weather forecast said it would be sunny today so I can do the laundry." She loves to do one load of laundry everyday, either by hand or machine and hang it out to dry in the sunshine.
The last few days, we've looked out the window as she said that and seen rain falling. Guy Hagi, my favorite weather guy says we're in the midst of a drought.
However, we live on the side of a hill so whatever Guy says rarely applies to us. They say all the islands have micro-climates. I believe it!
I looked out our windows this morning and this is what I saw.
Looking EAST toward Honolulu
Looking SOUTHWEST toward Waianae
Looking SOUTH toward Pearl Harbor
Looking NORTH toward the Koolau mountain range
Looking WEST toward the rainbow...
So this is what the skies in my world look like this Friday. In 20 minutes the skies will totally change. If you go to Waikiki right now, it's probably cloudless and sunny... perfect for tourists and my mother's laundry.
However, I just heard my mother saying she's going to use the dryer. The weather is making her crazy!
