A Time to Plant

We noticed that my mother's Dancing Lady orchid was blooming. I took a close-up and by golly, I do think I can see a Dancing Lady.

We planted a Mickey Mouse plant that our neighbor gave us that they grew from a cutting off of their tree. My brother says it'll be 10 years before it grows to any significant height. We decided to take a photo of KC next to it since they're about the same size.

KC absolutely loved helping to plant. We planted the Double Ixora that we found at the Unthirsty Plant sale. I hope it grows well despite my brown thumb.

  1. Bonsoir, Kay! "Louis" was happy to see you had stopped by! Those clouds aren't as ominous as they might look! Nothing more serious than fog! Serious fog, but still fog! ;-)

  5. You will be so glad that you took that picture of KC and the tree. It looks like a lovely place.

I'm in the process of trying to rent a vacation home on Kauai for our trip in December. I'll definitely think of you as we stop by Honolulu. And, of course, the house must have Internet so I can keep up with everyone.

  6. The Dancing Ladies Orchids are truly lovely. They look just like dancing ladies!!

K.C. is adorable bu the little tree and helping you with the planting of your Mickey Mouse plant. That's kind of an odd name. Do the leaves look like Mickey's ears?? It'll be interesting in two years to see what's grown the most. I'm betting it's K.C.

  7. KC is so cute! I'll bet her mama loved those photos, too.

The Dancing Ladies Orchids are gorgeous. Don't think I've ever seen any like that. It's hard for me to imagine orchids growing outside, but I suppose it could be done here under carefully controlled conditions.

    Nice post.

  8. Oooh! How cute. The "inherited" green thumb gardener part of KC is showing here. She is going to love these pics when she gets big enough to realize their importance. Jordyn has taken over a lot of my pics (or so she thinks).
