KC Goes to Disneyland

Tiffany called on Skype a couple of days ago so we could make it clear to KC that even though she would be riding on an airplane for a long time, she would not be coming to see us. She would actually be seeing her great Aunt Kay (Art's sister) and Great Uncle in California and go to Disneyland for the first time. That's right. Art's sister's name is Kay also. Remember how I told you that Art had three dogs named Finnegan #1, #2, #3? (No, not at the same time.) Well, he went from a sister to a wife with the same name also.

KC was just raking leaves a couple of cool days ago. I imagine it will startle her to suddenly be in warm L.A.

I wish we could be there, too.

I remember the first time we took Tiffany and Jonathan to Disneyland. My sister-in-law had gotten us a good deal. We were able to buy a ticket good for 5 days for the price of one. Well, we went to Disneyland every single day. We should have just set up a tent there. Yes, we're crazy!

Tif had such a great time running from character to character and wanting to experience everything over and over again. I hope KC will catch the magic also.

  1. Oh how fantastic this is going to be, KC WILL catch the magic. This really brings back fond memories of when we took the kids there. Baby son was about four, he found and fell in love with the 'big wheels' (of all things because he had one of his own at home)going round and round the track. Couldn't get him off.

One of us had to stay with him while the other took the other two kids to see other sights. This has me laughing out loud - remembering what a great time we had.

  2. I remember our trip to Disneyland. Our kids were about 9 and 11, I think. We had three wonderful days in the magic kingdom, and when we left on that last day, Tom and the kids cried. It was just so beautiful.

  6. That sounds like so much fun! I've never been. We were scheduled to take the girls to Disney world once, but instead I had gall bladder surgery. They went with friends when they were older, but I never got to go.

  8. Oh, yes! My kids loved Disneyland! I'm so glad that KC is going to get to go!! How fun! Know you wish you were there just to watch her!! Love your photos as always! And by the way, I've been meaning to tell you that I love your tulip shots! I have been there, too. It was such a fantastic trip and I have only to close my eyes and remember the incredible beauty! Thanks for the memories, Kay!

    Enjoy!

  9. We took the boys to Disneyland Paris for the first time when they were 11 and 13 and had a wonderful time on the first day, only to discover when we woke up the next day that Number Two Son had dislocated his neck on the teacup ride! So our second day was spent with him and I doing all the gentle stuff whilst Number One Son and his father did all the derring-do stuff. A memorable holiday! We went back again some years later, when the boys were about 15 and 17, at Hallowe'en, and they certainly weren't too old to enjoy themselves even more on that visit.

  10. It must be fun for Tiffany to be able to give her daughter the same exciting experience that she had when she was KC's age. I've only been to Disneyland Hongkong, but it's a magical place, too.

  14. KC seems to have grown a lot since she visited you. Very industrious little girl, always cleaning up! Too bad you guys can't make it to Disneyland with her.
