Fun at Bed, Bath and Beyond

My brother and sister-in-law gave us a $50.00 gift card to Bed, Bath and Beyond.  I'd actually put a stainless steel sifter on our holiday wish list, but they wanted us to have fun getting even more fun stuff.

Today, we finally went and roamed around the store to use the card.  It was loads of fun!  Here's what we got from left to right.

Plastic scraper:  It cost only $1.19.  I already have a couple that I bought for a dollar on the mainland, but this had that nice little red handle for 19 cents more.  I couldn't resist.  These are really GREAT for getting off burnt on gunk from frying pans.

Bra bag:  Art wasn't excited until I told him that this would prevent the bra hooks from snagging onto his precious t-shirts in the washing machine.

Dish Scrubber:  I thought it would be helpful to have this scrubber to take off gunk from dishes before I stuck it into the dishwasher.

Shout Travel Packets:  Have you ever used Shout?  They really do work.  I remember being at a party a long, long time ago and someone dropped a bit of juice on the carpet.  I whipped out my Shout wipes and it cleaned it up.  I've also given them out to people on trips when they stained their clothing.  Funny thing is... I've never used it on myself.  Then again, who knows?  Maybe I will on another trip.

Motion Detector Night Light:  I hope this works well.  One of our motion detector night lights fizzled out  on us, but the other one is still working.  We want to put a better light in my mother's bedroom so she can see everything clearly when she gets up to go to the bathroom or whatever at night.  I like it because it only goes off in low-light and when it detects motion.

The best thing about all this is that we've only spent half of the gift card.  We can do this again on another day!  Thank you, Nancy and Dennis!

  1. Bed, Bath and Beyond is not a known store name to me. So when I first saw only your title, I started wondering WHAT kind of post this would be and what kind of fun you were having.

  2. I love Dina's comment above. I haven't been to a Bed, Bath and Beyond for a long time.....I'm looking for a new bedspread and will have to go look there. Sounds like you had fun, even if it wasn't the kind Dina was thinking about. :)

  3. I can't get out of a BB&B store without spending a whole lot more than that! They are great stores for browsing, too.

  5. I hope I can remember to buy some Shout wipes. I need to try those. I was showing a guest around downtown Portland one time when a constipated pigeon flying over our guest let loose with a big one. It's aim was perfect, all down the front of our guest's shirt. I could have used a Shout wipe.

  6. I love that store. I wish we had one close by. When I go to Indianapolis I have to stop and shop there.

I have a mesh sock bag for the washing machine. Since socks have a way of disappearing, putting them in this mesh bag keeps them together.

  9. Poor Dina thought we had a really exciting story here. Guess we need to get those stores in her country. They're still fun, although not THAT much fun, and I can spend too much in there.

Uh, I've always reattached the bra hooks to prevent them from catching stuff. And jeans and pants had to be zipped up or I didn't/don't wash them. If I found money in pockets, it was mine.

I bet if you sent Dina's imaginative chuckle to the execs at BB&B, they'd get a store in her country.

  10. I need to make a trip to BBB....I love the vidalio onion chopper. I think it is $14.95. I've had two...and applied too much pressure chopping a half of onion....I need another one. I use it almost every day and boy I miss having one!
Have fun using the rest of your card....
