We were spending so much time going back and forth to Tripler Hospital last week, and we had to pick up fast food at the Commissary. We tried to be as healthy as possible.
When we saw this on the menu of Subway at two for $6.00 we decided to try it. We got the veggie flatizza figuring it would be healthier.
It came in what looked like a pizza box, but the flatizza was not all that large. It was more like an appetizer.
The filling was very skimpy and the crust was HARD! I finally gave up on eating the parts that had no sauce on it to soften it.
This is another fast food that we won't be ordering again.

Yesterday Art tried the Subway salad and he said that was much, much better.
He's been researching all the fast food offerings and decided that the Subway salad was the healthiest thing at the food court.

Weird piece of food. Maybe it's healthier because you don't eat all of the hard crust. I tried a "healthy" breakfast sandwich at such a shop one day. It was really a gross piece of dried up egg white like a thin hockey puck. Bleh.

Interesting meal. Looks tasty, however. Dianne
ReplyDeleteNope, not gonna do it. Thanks for the warning.
ReplyDeleteIf I must eat fast food, I try to avoid anything with white flour. I have never seen one of these before, but I certainly won't eat it now! Thanks for the tip. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks good. I would make something like that for myself at home.
ReplyDeleteYes I am skeptical of some of Subway's new menu endeavors. Maybe they should stick with subs :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning. I am not a fast food fan - have not been to McDonald's since my kids were toddlers decades ago - but in an emergency Subway wins. But will pass on the flatizza.
ReplyDeleteArt had Subway salad yesterday and he said it was quite good. He says they just give you a bowl of greens and throw any of the sandwich fixings onto it.
Deleteit has a stupid name too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you saved me an experiment as I do sometimes like a Subway sandwich.
ReplyDeleteGood to know to avoid this because the picture does make it look good. It is a disappointment to get something that is not good, even if it wasn't expensive.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning. I do like Subway sandwiches with soft fluffy fresh bread.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Subway food it's too expensive for its quality. In my point of view Piza Hut is better here in Europe.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Subway may be doing a test market in Hawaii on this product as I've not heard about it here. Taco Bell does a lot of its test marketing in Fresno so we had the waffle breakfast taco around here for quite awhile before they rolled it out nationally. I guess it did well here (Fresno is a huge fast food market) since they are putting it into all of their stores. I never tried it, as it seemed pretty yucky to me. Of course, I don't eat out for breakfast either. I've never understood eating out for breakfast when it's so easy to make so many good things at home for breakfast. I'll be on the lookout for the flat pizza. It looks as though it could be good if done correctly.
ReplyDeleteGive us the one in the ad or give us our money back! How disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThe pizza looks so good...very deceiving.
ReplyDeleteI know people who love Subway... Not me
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to tuna on wholewheat with lots of veggies added. That's the only thing I ever order at Subway.
ReplyDeleteToday instead of eating out, Caryn made me a yummy chicken salad sandwich with grapes and more! We saved money and ate better!
ReplyDeleteI've seen them but never tried it. Had a feeling they'd be like that.
ReplyDeleteAlso got your e-card with the frog, thanks!
Why not throw some nuts, seeds, snacks, in a ziploc bag? perhaps a peanut butter sandwich? Hard cheese sandwich?....I find myself eating less and less corporate food....... this rant brought to you by.... LOL

What a shame. Glad he found something that is good tho.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the subway outlets here in KL have this flatizza but out of curiousity, I will go and take a look. Subway salad sounds healthy and glad to hear that Art finds it ok.
