Feeling Good

My cousin, Arnold and Nancy went on an island cruise and won quite a few fun goodies while on board.

They even got to be on a radio show with island talk show hosts Perry and Price. It was fun to get daily email updates on their week long adventure.

On another night they won a bottle of champagne. They don't drink so they offered it to us when they returned.

Mom always boasts that her family has a very strong constitution and can easily hold their liquor. She and her siblings have proved that to us on a number of occasions.

She and I have a small glass of wine every other night. It's actually watered down with 2/3 carbonated water.

Well... once we opened that bottle of champagne, we figured we needed to finish it off because it would lose its fizz.

Art, Mom and I managed to drink 2 small glasses of champagne. But whoa.... it was much stronger than what we were used to.

I got really, really woozy before I even finished the second glass. Mom got giggly and started laughing at what we were saying. We were having a special pizza night to celebrate a family happening.

Art fell asleep in his chair at 8:30 and it took me a couple of hours for my head to clear.

Mom? A few hours later, she was still smiling and still very pleased with everything around her.

Actually, she was still laughing about it the following morning.

  5. I don't know why, but champagne hits me hard, makes me tired and often gives me a hangover. Hope you are all feeling better today!

  6. Your mom rocks! Champagne put me under the table fifty years ago, and I haven't touched it since.

  7. I simply LOVE that picture of your mom, looking like the picture of health, even if a teeny bit inebriated! :-)

  8. Your mom eats pizza with a knife and fork, what manners. Geez Larry Price has really really aged, he looks like he shrank. I watched/listened when they were in the prime of their life and alas, I've aged along too. BB

    1. She normally eats everything else with chopsticks, but this was special. Hard to eat pizza with chopsticks. :- ) I don't know Perry and Price well because I'm afraid we only listen to PBS. I do see one of them in commercials all the time though.

  19. If you do not drink any amount regularly it will impact you big time. Hope you did not get a headache or dehydrated the next day. I could help you with that champagne.

  20. Makes me wish that I could drink - I have a family gene that makes me all flush with a rapid heartbeat so I am no fun at bar hopping or champagne swigging. Sweet night!

    1. That's called Asian Flush. You can google it. It's probably better not to drink much if you have it. Art definitely has the same condition. Neither my brother nor I have it. We must take after my mother in that regard.
