Keola asked us while we were in Pennsylvania to describe what our favorite day would be like.
That was really hard for me to answer. My favorite day would be something pretty ordinary.
I'd like to have breakfast at Koa Pancake House with Art and mom. It's our favorite go-to place after we get our blood tested every so many months.
Then I'd want to go to Zumba and meet up with all my wonderful friends to exercise. I also love going out to lunch with them. It's such a happy time. Eating saimin noodles and having shave ice for dessert would be awesome.
In the afternoon, I would love to see a botanic garden or go for a walk in some beautiful park.
Dinner would be misoyaki butterfish at Maguroya in Kaimuki. Yum.
And how about a movie in the evening? I'd like to watch it at home with a big bowl of popcorn.
And that's it.
What would your perfect day be like?

My family waking and being smiley to each other. The sun shining. Warm. Pancakes for breakfast together. Then I'm stuck til lunch. That would be a tasty pasta dish and buttery hot french bread together around the table in the kitchen with doors to the garden open. Then I'm stuck again. Then out for a curry in the evening ..finally no weight gain after that foodfest
ReplyDeleteSounds similar to yours, exercise, hanging out with friends, good food but not too much of it! :-)
ReplyDeleteJust lounging around. Maybe a nice meal out, maybe not. Yet, I enjoy busy days too. So yeah, hard to say. It varies. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your favourite day! I like going for a morning walk in nice sunny weather, maybe stop for coffee or go to the grocery store, cook something healthy and hopefully delicious, check the blogs, the mail...I do love a routine!
ReplyDeleteWell, I am spoiled and have about a dozen perfect day ideas. So I will spare you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite day would be waking up at whatever time it happens to be, watering plants and taking care of the dogs. I check out Musings and Jalna's blogs - they make me happy and I feel connected to nice people.
ReplyDeleteHaving nothing on my calendar (unless it is for a massage). I suppose another way of saying that is to not be busy unless I want to be busy. I would have my typical breakfast of cereal and coffee, leftovers for lunch, and then a take out dinner from a favorite place such as Zippy's, Ba-le, Kozo Sushi, Hokkaido Ramen.
During the day, I would do yardwork - trimming trees, plants, weeding the grass (my favorite chore). At night, watch Korean dramas or go into my work room and sew or do crafts while listening to books on tape. I would have self control and NOT eat a chocolate cookie, lol.
You know something, Kay? It has been a very nice exercise sharing my favorite kind of day with you because it makes me realize that I have that almost every day. Mahalo! and Namaste!
Well, I hate to grumble, but a great dy for me is definitely going to occur after I move and don't have to think about that anymore!
ReplyDeleteI have to think about that some more. Our vacation days with the daughters sons-in-law and granddaughter would all qualify. Wish they were closer so we could see them more often.
ReplyDeleteMine vary. Some favorites are filled with family or friends, others as quiet and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide. Today has been pretty much perfect so far. Getting up when we are ready to, a morning exercise walk with Tom while I listened to the radio in my earpiece to catch up on today's news and talk, discussing some of it with Tom as we walk, coming back home and calling the Apple Store to get my iPhone fixed. Dealing with technology problems is not fun, my iPhone stopped receiving email, but working with a very patient and pleasant woman on the other end of the line and finally getting a fix is a very good thing. Working on the patio removing plants that need to go in the greenhouse, coming in for a long lunch of my favorite yogurt and blueberries and apple and almonds and chocolate and coffee. Then going back outside to work in the sunshine, planting my newly purchased plants into the emptied patio pots. Coming in at 4:00 to catch up on email and post a blog with photos of my work outside. Dinner will be left overs that are yummy but require little work. New season TV shows start tonight, so we'll have some good TV to watch. I'll end my day by reading a good book until my eyelids get heavy and I sink into dreamland.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very common kind of day for me, so I guess you could say I have many almost perfect days.
I try to enjoy EACH day, especially with the number of hospice clients and hubby being ill.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite day would be more ordinary than yours. I'm not big fan of eating out so I like my own food. I like puttering around in my yard. I like activities I do on my own like cycling. I do like to visit with people . There , that's a pretty ordinary day.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure to be honest
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely response. :) I'll think about an answer for you.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a wonderful question and i love that your son thought to ask such a lovely question, he asked something that really shows your true personality, its a question that shows his love for you,,
ReplyDeletemy day would be spent in the forest, a cool soft day, with my husband then back home for supper with family,
