The Cubbies have won the Central Division and are on their way to earning the right to represent the National League in the World Series.
In the movie Back to the Future #2, 2015 is the year that the Cubs were supposed to win the World Series. Wouldn't it be something if they did? Art has pointed out to me that the movie also said the Cubs would play off against Miami who is actually also part of the National League right now. Miami would have to be in the American League for the Cubs to play against them to win the World Series as they did in the movie.
Ah well...
We can only dream.
This could still be THE year.

We are cheering for the Cubs too.
ReplyDeleteNot a sports fan, it is interesting to people watch though, the emotional reactions from anger, joy, despair, frustration, excitement.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be something!
ReplyDeleteGoat curse vs Back to the Future II, who will win?
ReplyDeletewe are gunning for the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto and Canada. They just won their division this week, so exciting.
ReplyDeleteHey, Art, stop being Kay's "reality check"! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is a HUGE Cubs fan, and hasn't shaved since the playoffs began, and won't until they either win or eliminated. Oh vey. LOL
ReplyDeleteWithout my mother here to root for the Cleveland Indians, I've not a lot of interest in baseball. The Cubs, however-woo, hoo. Wouldn't that be something.
ReplyDeleteThat would be something if Back to the Future's prediction comes true. Poor Cubs haven't won a championship for over 100 years! Maybe that is going to change this year.
ReplyDeleteI just finished "reading" (actually it was an audiobook borrowed from the library) a book entitled "Calico Joe". It is about a player named Joe Castle who exploded on the scene as a rookie and broke so many records and catapulted the Cubs to becoming contenders for the World Series championship in 1973 until they played the Mets (similiar game on today). It was a terrific book by a terrific author, John Grisham.
For Calico Joe and all Chicago fans, I do hope they take it to the top. I must, though, admit to being enamored of the Mets back in the 80's - they had really hot cute players and were on a roll.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I just put a hold on the kindle book at the library. Too cool!
DeleteThat would be amazing actually. Would love to see them win this year.
ReplyDeleteHey the Red Sox finally beat the curse of the Babe. No reason the Cubs can't beat the curse of the Goat. I am pulling for them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a baseball fan, but I will be pulling for the Cubs!
ReplyDeleteOnly time will tell...
ReplyDeleteI love the photo! The newspaper holder's eye peeking through the crack! Makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is the year
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with the baseball World series. Hope the team you are rooting for wins!
ReplyDeleteOne never knows. One can keep on hoping.
ReplyDeletei hope the cubs win!
