Halloween in Pennsylvania with our son and his family was a lot of fun. Our grandson is still too young to understand what Halloween is about, but we celebrated the holiday anyway. It was a gorgeous evening and we had over 80 trick-or-treaters.
I loved this idea they had in Keola's neighborhood. I was surprised they celebrated on Thursday evening instead of Saturday though.
This is the picture that was posted on our door to let children know we were participating in the fun.
Incredibly, even though four big bags were bought, we still ran out of candy and had to take this picture down.
Back in Illinois, my granddaughter had a great time trick or treating with her friends even though it did rain a little.
In Hawaii, mom said there were NO trick-or-treaters. That was a surprise because we'd given mom a giant box of candy to pass out and she'd turned her outside light on to let children know she was open to giving out candy.
Did you get many trick or treaters this year?

No, I didn't get many at all. In fact, none. I was ready, but the next morning I took the candy to the coffee shop so I wouldn't eat it myself! Love that picture of the kids in their cute outfits. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd a happy Tuesday to you.
ReplyDeleteThe last two years we had zero trick or treaters. This year we did have five or so. From a rather old-folks neighborhood, we are once again a starter kind of place. Wonderful to see this too.
I never once got trick or treaters at my house in the country--even though I always stocked up on my favorite candy, just in case. I moved into my new home the day before Halloween and I bought some supplies. The doorbell rang once and I found two little trick or treaters outside my door. That was it, but they were adorable.
ReplyDeleteWe live to far out in the country to have trick or treaters but we did deliver a few treats that day.
ReplyDeleteI had less than 20 this year which is not much. Malls and churches put on activities that keep kids off the street. some stay home and watch movies.
ReplyDeleteOnly my grand kids.
ReplyDeletewe got a few but not that many
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get very many I wish we did.
ReplyDeleteWe had so many trick or treaters that we ran out after going through the big bag of Costco candy and several bags of my favorites. Started giving out bottled water (the parents liked them) and then bags of ramen. It started drizzling at 8:00, which was good because the crowd seemed to disappear and we went in the house.
ReplyDeleteWe had quite a few trick and treaters this year, and I love seeing all of the kids.
ReplyDeletewe went through 150 treat bags in less than an hour. the word is out about our house. people arrive in cars.
ReplyDeleteWe never have had trick or treaters since we moved to this house 10 years ago. We are too far off the road and up a steep driveway.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are making the trip East multiple times each year to see your children and grands. Nice to be able to do that.
