We finished the baseboards for our Master Bedroom. Art and I both have some aching joints from cutting, pounding, painting, caulking, sanding, etc.
As I look at the photos, I notice that I was about 9 pounds lighter and a lot less gray.
10 years sure makes a difference. I don't think I can squat like that for very long these days.

Art wanted to insulate our walls not from the cold, but from the hot Hawaiian sun.
We did hire experts to hang the drywall and tape it for us.
The bottom photo shows our completed room with baseboards. Yay!

I was just about to sit down and be satisfied with a job finally completed when Art said, "We're not really done, you know. We still need to paint the louvered closet doors. There are 16 panels to do."
Arrrrghhhhh.....

DeleteWe have to seal the doors in some way because of the termite problem. Good thing the termites haven't discovered them after 8 years. We did add a lot of windows because we like the light. We forgot that you have to clean them. Sigh...
Very bright and airy! Such a nice, big room. I think work around a house is never really done.

ReplyDeleteYes, done. and it looks wonderful. Why paint the doors? Just asking. Spray them don't paint them with a brush to get an even finish.
ReplyDeleteArt is pretty insistent that it should be white because he likes the look of the white doors in the Master bedroom. Hooowever, now that so many of you mentioned it, I think I'll hold my ground on my office and just use a sealer varnish instead.
DeleteWe've tried spraying before and had too difficult a time doing it. We just haven't mastered that spraying contraption that we rented. Using spray cans would be too expensive because we'd need too many of them.

ReplyDeleteIt's not quite as big as it looks. That's all in the camera angle. We did add a couple of extra rooms to the house when we built it to make sure the kids and family would be comfortable when they came to visit. I told you we had enough room for you and Holly, didn't I?

ReplyDeleteWe added a second floor to her small house after buying it from her so that we would have our own private space. And yes, we do, of course have a million photos of the whole project from beginning to end.
