A Shadow Box for My Third Grandchild

It all started with a teacher friend showing me how she'd saved her children's clothing and had them draped decoratively on a clothes tree.

I took it a step further and put my children's clothes and a photo of them wearing it into shadow boxes.

Tiffany and Keola's baby clothes are on the right wall.

I liked the effect so much that I did the same thing with KC's baby dress. That's on the extreme left. And then JD was born so I put his pajamas in a shadow box. Ummm... my walls were then covered.

However, now JD is going to have a brother so we had to make room on the wall. We got another shadow box and it's ready and waiting to receive that baby's outfit.

I'm sorry, but I hope everybody knows we don't have room for more grandchildren. We're out of wall space.

Just kidding...

  1. What a nice idea and such a special way to preserve the memories. Grandchildren grow up so very fast.

  2. What a great idea! And I laughed at the need for either more walls or fewer grands. :-)

  6. Could it be that I remember Tiffany WEARING that red dress? Wow, where have the years gone?
This is such a sweet project, Kay. I think the grandkids can tell that you love them. :)

  10. I know what you mean. I have five grandchildren...all grown up... and seven great grandchildren. I definitely would run out of walls.

  11. There's always room for more grandchildren! Just rearrange your groupings.
