Walmart Online vs. Walmart Brick and Motar

My new Merrells shoes arrived and I decided to waterproof it. I did this before with my first pair and it worked well. This was several years ago.

I looked up Scotchgard online and found this at the Walmart website.

We found it at the store but the sign said $6.76.

When I showed the cashier how it's supposed to be $5.88, she said that was the online price with free shipping to the store.

I went to customer service and asked if it's true that I could order it online and pick it up at the store for the online price, they said yes.

I know in past that if I showed the online price at Target stores, they would give that price to me.

What the heck! I just paid the store price and I had something to write about.

  1. I get Amazon Prime and all I order comes the next day and the freight is free.

  2. I placed a Walmart order online this past summer and it took almost three weeks to arrive so I would say no more Walmart online for me. Seems funny that they didn't give you the online price. At least you got the spray and could take care of the shoes right away.

  6. I order a lot of stuff from Walmart online but only if it is an item they will deliver to the store. It works great on that item that you always bought but your store doesn't carry anymore. It usually only takes a few days and they email me when it comes in.

  7. I noticed that very same quandary yesterday when I was looking for something at Walmart, the online price was different than the instore price, it did actually state that at the bottom,, I was surprised to see that, one would think the pricing would apply on either option. I will tell you the same product here in our Canadian store is 12 dollars!!

  8. Usually it's the only way around especially with food. They can't make things simple

  10. I don't brick and mortar anything these days. I save the walking for getting into a restaurant.

  11. Sometimes items aren't available at the store, but you can order online and have it delivered to the store for you to pick up. I did that with the heated mattress pad. Supposedly it's a lower price that way, because they didn't have to pay to have it stocked on the shelf, and all of the costs associated with marketing. What you pick up is already sold without much effort from WalMart staff. Cheers for the new shoes. Linda in Kansas
